We visited this museum via the Museum Pass Istanbul. To be honest, this is one of the few places in Istanbul that we regretted visiting. General impressions The museum leaves a feeling of a crude and poorly thought-out exposition. Despite the fact that admission costs about 10 euros (or is included in the pass), the value of the visit raises questions. Language and accessibility of information The main problem is the almost complete lack of normal adaptation for tourists: • almost all descriptions are in Turkish only • At best, the names of the exhibits have been translated into English • there is no full explanation of the essence of the exhibits Yes, you can use the translator through the camera, but: • it greatly slows down the viewing • Completely breaks immersion • turns the visit into a "job" rather than an interesting experience It seems that the museum is primarily focused on local visitors. Exposure and logic One of the key problems is the lack of structure and narrative. • The exhibits are randomly assembled • there is no sense of technology development over time • there is no explanation of "why this is important" Examples: • many astrolabes are displayed without an explanation of their evolution • scientific instruments (rulers, measuring instruments) are shown without the context of the application • some exhibits are repeated in different halls As a result, it seems that the collection was simply "assembled and arranged", without curatorial logic. Interactive Formally, it exists, but in practice it is almost absent: • single elements • everything is in Turkish • video projector (poorly configured, part of the image is not visible) There is no modern museum experience here. Content The exhibition mainly focuses on antiquity: • astronomy • Time measurement • Basic scientific tools There are interesting things (like a water clock), but: • they are poorly explained • not integrated into the overall picture Also striking: • the lack of a logical transition to modernity • there is no sense of the development of science until today • there is no final "conclusion" or concept Separate halls For example, a hall with architectural layouts: • just a set of building models • without analysis, without explanation of evolution The same applies to most thematic sections. Attendance There weren't many people, but in this case it was more a reflection of the general interest in the museum. Result The museum left a disappointing impression. Positive: • Selected interesting exhibits • Potentially strong topic (history of science) Minuses: • almost complete absence of English content • weak structure of the exposition • lack of logic and narration • Minimal and non-functional interactivity • outdated presentation of the material Conclusion: A visit makes sense only with a deep interest in the topic and a willingness to figure it out on your own. For an ordinary tourist, it's more like a waste of time, even with the Museum Pass.

The museum lacks interactivity. If a person is not familiar with astronomy, then a lot will not be clear. The physics section, well, it would definitely be possible to make installations of how this or that mechanism works. There were places where the exhibit was unlit. In some places, there are televisions where information is played, but there are few of them, and sometimes there is no English either. I would say that it's some kind of blunder museum. There is potential, but they didn't realize everything and decided to leave it that way. There is an archeology museum nearby, and money is a plus, but there is an approach and implementation... I advise you to go to it better. I came here only because of the museum's map.

It's a beautiful museum, but it's a little empty. More reconstructions that are good in action, not as scarecrows. They save money, the toilet is closed. You can use the museum card, but you can't.
