If Istanbul had a sweet heart, it would surely be made from Hafiz Mustafa baklava. The confectionery has been in existence since 1864, a figure that inspires respect. And already at the entrance it becomes clear why she has survived so many epochs. The showcase sparkles with golden syrup and nuts: pyramids of baklava, pistachio onions, pink slices of Turkish delight, glistening with sugar — everything is neatly arranged, like jewelry. We were greeted by friendly Turks in fezzes, offered to try different types of baklava and proudly told us what the secret of each is. We couldn't choose, so we took a few at random and didn't miss a beat: the sweetness is perfectly balanced, and the nuts crunch as if they had just been peeled. I liked baklava in the form of a sandwich and our favorite Turkish delight the most. Yes, the prices here are not small, but honestly, after Hafiz Mustafa, all the other sweets seem to be just a replica. We ordered tea, sat down at a table and watched as a red retro tram rang its bell along Istiklal Street. Life is rushing below, and we have our own little break with the taste of Turkish sweets and tea.

## Review of Hafiz Mustafa confectionery **Legendary pastry shop** Istanbul, with a history dating back to 1864, is a must—have place for those with a sweet tooth. **** The atmosphere is luxurious: a traditional oriental interior in red and gold tones, friendly staff in national costumes. **Sweets** are amazing in their variety: baklava with pistachios, Turkish delight, oriental desserts. The quality is excellent — not cloying, with a rich taste. **** Presentable packaging: metal boxes with branded symbols, vacuum packaging is available. **Prices** are above average (from 175 lira per kg), but fully justified by the quality. **The result:** I definitely recommend it for exploring Turkish sweets and as a gift. 5 out of 5!
