The Koskipuisto (Porozhisty) Scenic Park includes an island in the middle of the Vantaa riverbed, flanked by a dam and a water slide. Fishing enthusiasts catch salmon on a water slide (you need to purchase a license for this). This place gave the name to the city of Helsingfors (fors in Swedish means river rapids). In the 19th century, there was a power plant on the island and next to it, in the premises of which the technical museum is now located. In the 16th century, the harbor of old Helsingfors, a city of merchants and privateer pirates, was below the rapids.
