The Luxembourg Palace is a true symbol of Paris. The huge central pavilion with a dome immediately catches the eye, and in front of it is a terrace with sculptures of ancient heroes. The courtyard is enclosed, and the wings are symmetrically arranged in the corners, everything looks very harmonious. The facade is impressive: the columns run in tiers — Tuscan from below, Doric above, and elegant Ionic on the third floor. On the upper level there are small terraces with balustrades and sculptures, offering beautiful views. The southern facade was specially pushed forward to add a meeting room — and this gave the building even more grandeur. Despite the Baroque style, the decor of the palace is quite restrained: rusticated panels, cornices, stepped columns. The main focus is the bas—reliefs of the pediments with the gods of the ancient Pantheon: Mars, Athena, Hero, Dionysus and others. All this is surrounded by the Luxembourg Gardens — spacious, green, with fountains and almost fifty statues. Here you can meet French kings, philosophers, generals and mythological characters. Today it is one of the most picturesque places in Paris, where both locals and tourists come to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

A beautiful palace. A huge area of ponds, fountains, and gardens. You rest your mind and body. It was not for nothing that, during the occupation of Paris, Field Marshal Hugo Sperle of the Luftwaffe occupied it.
