The castle built by King Charles of Anjou on the seaside in Naples in connection with the transfer of the capital of his possessions from Palermo. Construction began in 1279 and lasted three years. In 1494, Castel Nuovo was again besieged by French armies. After the transfer of the Neapolitan crown to the Spanish Habsburgs, they visited Naples only on visits and, as a rule, stayed in this castle. The Naples City Council continued to meet in the medieval Hall of the Barons (where the conspiracy of the barons was exposed) until 2006.

An incredibly cool fortress!!! Its appearance from any side is impressive! The most powerful bastions look unreal and fantastic! The fortress offers a beautiful view of the ports. The exposition of the fortress itself did not seem so interesting, but I highly recommend visiting it, for the sake of the fortress itself!
