A magnificent monument of Byzantine architecture, carefully preserved in Turkey. Getting there is easy and straightforward. We take any bus from Konakli, Turkler, Okurjalar or Alanya itself and go to the terminal, to the market. We get off there and wait for bus number 4. It will say Kale on it. He will take you to the highest point of the fortress. In 2024, we faced the fact that the Turks sharply raised the price for a visit to $ 20. Well, what to do. The fortress has fantastic views and a small museum. The way back is now all gentrified, there are convenient stairs everywhere. We need to go down to the mosque, there is a free toilet near it. Then it's better to get on the cable car and go down. I recommend.

It's a great place to visit.
We were in a car, and there were a lot of "pockets" along the way for parking and a leisurely walk. The views from here are amazing.
On the way to the viewing there is a cool blossom cafe with delicious food: pastas, salads, seafood, desserts.
They also make a good hookah here.
Slowly enjoying the moment from a bird's-eye view.

The fortress is highly recommended for visiting. I've been there 2 times and I'll be happy to come again. Choose a day that is not too hot, put on shoes and dress comfortably, take water with you and go ahead! My favorite route is to take the cable car up, take a walk at the top and walk down. You can go to Cleopatra beach or to the seaport. You can see a lot of interesting things besides architectural monuments. For example, we managed to meet land turtles, which are quite large! And the existing residential buildings of the last century and the beginning of the last century are generally a separate story. It was very funny.

The fortress starts almost from the bay, fragments of the wall remain. But the attraction itself is located at the very top. In addition to the preserved and restored buildings and structures, there are water storage tanks and fragments of the foundation. But the most unforgettable thing is the view of the sea and the entire coast. There is a regular bus service from the market square directly to the fortress. It is convenient to return down on foot, there is a wide road for cars, there are steeper hiking trails.

The symbol of the city of Alanya, many interesting locations inside and near the fortress, not everyone can climb to the top of the fortress on foot, a telephone and a taxi to help, in the heat you can hide inside the fortress in the shade of a coniferous forest, many viewing platforms, must-visit.

Be sure to visit this landmark in Alanya.
🏞️It is as if you will be transported back in time and plunge into the atmosphere of those times. This place will not leave you indifferent!⛵📸
I was here at the end of September 2024. Even though it was already autumn, it was very hot outside the fortress. Therefore, if you plan to visit this place in the summer, be careful.

The ancient fortress is located on a vast territory, not everywhere gentrified. There are many ancient graves with strange dates. The easiest way to get to the fortress is by cable car. It is better to do this at the end of the day in the setting sun. Lovers of ruins will definitely enjoy it. There are also a lot of seals there, however, just like everywhere else in Turkey.

The Alanya Fortress, founded in 1226, is a truly impressive place steeped in history and the atmosphere of antiquity. Amazing views of the sea and the city, the ancient walls and towers of the fortress create a unique picture that leaves an impression for a long time! A walk through the narrow streets and ancient corners of the fortress immerses you in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages and allows you to feel the greatness of the past. There is an ancient mosque on the territory of the fortress, which is still open to the public today.
Alanya Fortress is a must-visit place for all fans of history and beauty!🤩👍

Since I am a lover of everything ancient, I really liked it. The fortress is well restored, dating back to the times of the Roman Empire. The views from here are just a bomb. April 24th entrance cost 12 euros, there are plenty of places where you can walk for free up to the fortress. We got here on foot from the lower station of the cable car along the road, then the paths uphill, we decided not to spend money on the canal in 5 minutes. The ascent is not difficult, half an hour maximum, the main thing is to take water with you. There are plenty of paths, if you decide to walk, you can go safely. You can also take a taxi and a cable car.

I liked the fortress, it's a historical monument, a pirate fort. There is a place below where there are no waves, it is a pleasure to swim in a mask. And the photo from the tower towards the sea and the mountain on the background sticking out of the cloud is just a fairy tale. I am delighted with this place.

The final goal of the hiking trip was completed. I can advise you to make this route with your own feet in order to fully experience what the Seljuks felt when they went up to the sultan in the fortress. It was not even the goal itself that was interesting, but the path that lay through the fascinating views of Alanya.
I am shocked by the stone laid out on the way to the castle, is this really how it has been preserved? Question.
Silence reigns inside the fortress. I'm on vacation in December 2024. Tourists are a couple of people with whom I crossed paths once. The sea air and the fresh smell of fir trees (as it seemed to me) filled my lungs. The true owners of this fortress ( cats to cats) roam everywhere. Beautiful views from the observation decks. A large number of shops. You can ground yourself at the moment and enjoy the atmosphere of this truly amazing place.
Most of all, I was surprised to find a church on the territory of the fortress!! Amazing…
Advice for the descent. I advise you to walk to the observation deck located closer to the castle (it will be visible on the map). Along the way, you will be able to fully enjoy the destroyed buildings, and most importantly, the smells. Something unreal!
You will be pleasantly surprised when you find a short descent ( note : the funicular was under reconstruction , so I did not ride on the cable car , I do not know what it is , but I did not break the first impression of the trail , which is hidden from the eyes of people. The fact is that when I went up , I did not notice it , but when I went down it , I was pleasantly surprised. The trail causes a lot of impressions. Firstly, she is beautiful and neat (though slippery, be careful!! and secondly, I felt like a hero from the movie "The Lord of the Rings" , walking along the path of a dwarf , which is not visible to the ordinary eye 😅

The fortress was visited in 2021 in September, when we rested in Konakli.
We took a short tour.
It takes an hour and a half to drive from Konakles. Maybe less, in a jeep)
The attraction is beautiful!
We rode the cable car to the top in booths. There were, of course, ascents up the stairs and descents back.
It's very beautiful, I liked it!
Upstairs there is a huge "window" with a view of the sea and Alanya. Very beautiful!
The attraction is located next to Cleopatra Beach.
I recommend viewing and visiting those who will be vacationing in Turkey.
You can go by yourself, but we decided to take a guided tour so that the guide would tell the story of the attraction...

Beautiful, accessible. We parked in a residential area, bought tickets after the fact, there are not many tourists during the day. Nearby there is a funicular and a descent into caves, a port with yachts for walking in the sea. If you buy everything on the spot, the prices are cheaper than at the guides and at the tour stalls about once every 12 hours.

It is really built on the ruins of antiquity, however, it is partially worth the rebirth... On the territory, in addition to buildings from. There is a deep underground cistern on the island of sticks with awesome acoustics and free entrance (someone wrote below that it is not the only one). Otherwise, there is a lot of reconstruction of disgusting quality. If you have a binocole, I advise you to take it with you. A walk from the funicular takes a lot of time and effort (a lot of descents and ascents), I advise you not to skimp on a return ticket on the funicular: 3 minutes sitting and you will find yourself in the center

You can climb the fortress by cable car, it works until 23.00. However, it is expensive. After the cable car, there are still multiple ascents with ladders, it will be difficult for the elderly. Then there are colorful fortress walls, a mosque, an old bazaar, impressive views of Alanya, cafes - very cool, especially at sunset. We definitely recommend you to visit. After walking along the fortress walls, you can reach Ichkale, but we could not, because the stairs with ladders lead to Ichkale again, it is very difficult. We recommend visiting Ichkale separately, driving up there along the serpentine by car or taxi.
