The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourviere is a church on top of a hill. It was built in a combination of Neo-Byzantine and Neo-Gothic styles designed by architect Pierre Bossan at the end of the XIX century.
There is a beautiful view of Lyon from here.

A huge temple. Beautiful stained glass windows. It is better to get up by funicular, because you have to walk up a steep mountain. You can also walk back. In addition to the main hall, there are two lower crypts (Mary and Joseph). Statues of the Virgin Mary from different parts of the world. Near the rose garden, observation decks. There is an information bureau, souvenir shops. The Roman Amphitheater is a 3-minute walk away.
