We walked past the Town Hall and saw that there was an observation deck upstairs. We decided to go in and look at Mogilev from a height.
We took a ticket to the museum itself and to the observation deck. We also paid separately for the opportunity to take photos (yes, it's paid). About the paid photography. It's strange to take money for this. The photos that tourists show to their relatives are posted on the Internet - a kind of advertisement. And other people will go and want to visit the Town Hall. The second point is that the exposure is quite poor. There's not much to photograph. It would be better if they just included this small amount in the ticket price right away.
The observation deck, of course, left a wonderful impression. A very beautiful view of the city with its magnificent cozy courtyards. You can climb higher and see the ancient clockwork. Get up, you won't regret it.
But the "excursion" left a strange impression. Maybe the guide thinks that people are not interested in listening. Maybe she's tired of telling the same thing, or maybe she just doesn't know how to tell. We were given general information without unnecessary details with a lot of "a", "e" sounds and heavy sighs. Although, according to the questions that the tourists tried to ask, it was obvious that it was interesting to learn more about this place.

Little kids are not very interested in the museum, but I liked it as an adult. But everyone is interested in going upstairs, looking at the clock mechanism and the city from the observation deck, although we constantly do not get into the schedule.

Unfortunately, the original town hall has not been preserved. The building was the tallest in the city. In 1780, Empress Catherine II and Austrian Emperor Joseph II admired Mogilev from its observation deck. A modern replica was built in 2007. In any case, it's better than nothing. It is impossible to get to the observation deck of the tower without a guided tour. At exactly 12:00, once a day, a flute boy rides out of the door at the top of the Town Hall and a melody sounds. If you get into the group at 11-50, you can see it from inside the Town Hall. We didn't make it, but it looks unusual from the street. We liked it. The next group goes up to the Town Hall at 12:50, so you can buy tickets to the museum and walk slowly there at first, and then go up to the Town Hall together with the guide. We had a great guide who told us a lot of interesting things. I recommend visiting the Town Hall in Mogilev for sure!
