I can not confirm the above statement, I am afraid. Quite oposite. My son and myself went today to the Nakheel Mall in Dubai with the intention to buy Airpods Pro 2. The first store, EMAX, we entered had a 'back to school' promotion at 779AED. We decided to check the prices at other stores with electronic equipment in the mall, looking obviously for the best offer. Information (messages) we obtained at e.g. EROS and [..] Global Digital were very straightforward and transparent so it was clear to us EMAX price was the best one. The last store we enterred was the ECity. The salesman at the counter confirmed to us he would be in the position to match the EMAX price and upon our response that we were looking for a better than EMAX price, he offerred to us: matching the EMAX price and added some headphones extra to the package (for free). Upon the confirmation of our acceptance of the package deal, the salesman admitted he could in fact offer 819AED only for the airpods in question. We left the store with the intention to make the purchase at EMAX. We came back however to ECity once again, as neither mysefl nor my son were sure if the offerred price was at 819AED or 890AED. The salesman confirmed 819AED (airpods and headphones). We decied to pursue the purchase as we thought it would be still a good package deal. Before making the payment, we were suggested to buy a 2-year AppleCare cover (were told it would work from any place in the world) for 100AED extra instead of 200AED of the regular price. While being hesitant (not being sure it would similarly work in EUrope with no extra costs and charges), (you do a lot for your child), I have accepted the AppleCare cover. When it came to the payment the salesman said the total price needs to be 929AED instead of 919AED. Having your child standing excited just next to you and after having so much time spent making the p urchase happen, you say ok. I paid the final price of 929AED for airpods pro 2 + earheads (regular price 50AED) and AppleCare cover. Have left the store with some level of disappointment however. We could have bought the airpods for AED 779 at EMAX instead of AED 929 at ECity, if we were clearly and bindingly informed about the actual price at ECity in a step one. I felt that by the course of misleading information of the salesman I have been attracted to a good deal first, which turned out not to be a best deal we could get that day. I am a European (EU) and we leave in Europe. Europeans cherish truthfullness, transparency and taking responsibility for words given / statements made - irrespective of whether you deal with public administration or you buy milk at the grocery. We will obviously survive with the greater spending made than needed, the impression however of being misleaded in an unelegant way at ECity will remain with us. And clearly sheds some light on our overall experience of our stay in Dubai. Sadly.
