According to legend, the mountain was filled after Mindovg's death from pure river sand, where Mindovg is buried at the top.
But alas, the hill is natural, and Mindovga's grave is unknown where) there is a plague cemetery of the 18th century in this place. And during the USSR, sand was taken from there for construction.

It is assumed that Prince Mindovg, the founder of the VKL, was buried here in the 13th century, the only one crowned king. Like Rurik in Kiev, he led and expanded the Lithuanian Rus. Rurik was a Varangian, but Russia did not cease to be Russia. So ON. At all times, the Slavic and later Orthodox population was the overwhelming majority. The princes of the INCL married mainly Russian princesses. The official language was Old Belarusian, and all state documents were published in it. Private correspondence is almost all in Belarusian. The entire history of the INCL was systematically hushed up by Russian historical science and the press. What can we say about ancient times, even if it is currently written in Wikipedia that the language of the INCL was Western Russian! Think about it, in the 21st century we are denied a national identity.
