The hotel fully corresponds to its name Ethnika Old..
We had a double room with a long beautiful definition of its class 😆 "Deluxe Double Room, 1 Double Bed, Sea View" with breakfast...for 12,000 rubles for 3 nights
Positive:
- location, near the Marmarray station, convenient access to SAW airport and all attractions nearby
- a couple of bottles of drinking water
- comfortable bed
- clean bed linen
- availability of all toilet and bathroom accessories, except toothbrushes;
- 3rd floor, bay view, room window facing the quiet side.
The view from the window- well, it wouldn't be bad if the window wasn't small and filled with a bed...
that's it.
Cons:
- the furniture, and the room as a whole, are "tired"
- dirty, general cleaning has not been done for a long time. There's dust everywhere. The walls of the toilet are covered in mold, plumbing in plaque or rust
- the kettle was scalded, the tea cups were brown from dust, there were no spoons or tea with sugar
- staff, young guys, "frostbitten"
- breakfast is strictly from 8:00 - 10:00. Strangely enough, people on vacation have to get up in the morning to have time to eat. We did it at least until 11:00...😕
- the breakfast is portioned, poor, looks like leftovers. If you're lucky, you'll get a couple of pieces of sausage and tea. After the first attempt, we decided not to go anymore, it's not worth it. Better get some sleep.

Ahead of the description of the hotel as a whole, I want to say that we were cheated out of $ 920 by a man who introduced himself as an employee of this hotel, although he has not been an employee for a very long time (he was fired), but has free access to the hotel (I freely enter the hotel). The Istanbul police will not help you in this case, you will lose strength, nerves, time and money! Be careful of everything! And to everyone !
And as for the hotel itself, as someone who has visited Istanbul enough times, I will say:

I do not recommend this hotel at all.
The breakfasts are the same, nothing changes at all. you will be served tea, scrambled eggs, a plate of cheese, old French fries and several sauces. And so it is every day. The rooms are not cleaned. Terrible hotel (I don't know where the good reviews come from. We were placed in the attic, the room is tiny, we can't turn around together. The bathroom and toilet are terribly dirty, the toilet rests against the sink. The room wasn't cleaned at all, as if everything was dirty. The tub wasn't working, they called for repairs at night. There were no towels, I had to ask for them. Walk up to the 5th floor. Breakfast is generally funny — a couple of cucumbers and a boiled egg. The hotel is located 5 minutes from Topkapi and within walking distance of other Istanbul attractions, which is very convenient. There is also a 5-7-minute metro and tram stop. The room is clean and tidy, the bed is comfortable. The bed linen seems to have been changed every 2 days, towels every day. Gel, shampoo, soap and shower caps were put on every day. Two bottles of water are replenished daily. The room has slippers, a refrigerator, a kettle, cups, tea and instant coffee. Breakfast is the same every day, but hearty and delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. They help to resolve issues if they arise. They speak English, there is also a Russian-speaking administrator, but apparently work shifts and he does not always happen. I would especially like to thank the Hazem administrator for his participation, responsiveness and friendliness. I recommend the hotel, just like visiting Istanbul :)

The hotel is conveniently located in the historical center of Istanbul. The staff is very polite and helpful. The restaurant is one of the best that our family has visited. The kitchen and bar have a large selection of dishes and drinks. The room is cleaned daily. The only surprise is that there is no trash can in the room. The hotel is really Old, the furniture is tired. But the staff is very pleasant and friendly, going to the meeting. The night administrator Hazem is a good guy, a good guy, does not let you get bored. We did not sleep all night before check-in and arrived very tired in the morning to check in, although the hotel was full, they tried to vacate and clean the room for us. We flew to Istanbul for nine days. At the booking, we first booked a hotel for only 3 nights. Having settled, we came to the conclusion that everything suits us, the combination of price and quality is the best. We stayed until the end of the vacation.
The room fully corresponds to the photos on the booking com. The bed is comfortable, the shower toilet is clean, towels, soap, shower accessories are changed every day. Bed every two or three days, we didn't even notice.
Breakfast won't leave you hungry, though it's the same thing every day. We turned to the staff and fried eggs for us, as we like. Special thanks to the staff, especially Hazem, all our wishes were immediately fulfilled.
What is very pleasant, tea and coffee in the restaurant were offered to us constantly and without restrictions. And on the way to the airport, they gave 100 ml of water. Which is also very nice.
If we are still in Istanbul, we will stop here.

Accommodation from May 29 to June 5. After an adventure with luggage and a transfer from the booking office, we arrived at the hotel a little on edge. And they were ready to swear if they didn't like the room. But, there is an aroma diffuser in the room, everything is in the bathroom. The shower slug is really like a fountain, but the next day everything was fixed. Number 203 or 205 (I don't keep it in mind) the window looked out onto the street with restaurants))) It's a little noisy, but it's the hotel's fault. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. All our comments and requests have been taken into account. Towels were changed every day. The bed linen was changed exactly once every two days. The room is cleaned daily. Sometimes they forgot to put shower gel on, but after reminding the administrator, the mistake was corrected. Breakfast is normal, you won't be hungry, but the same type for a seven-day stay. Again, I do not consider this a minus, but perhaps a promising change in the future to alternate Turkish breakfast))).We thank all the staff of the hotel for pleasant communication and positive emotions.

Having booked this hotel based on a good average rating on the Booking and having paid a little less than a hundred dollars for two days in a room, I was counting on something decent, but it was not there…
Upon entering room 102, an old musty smell hit my nose, despite the windows being wide open. From this alone, it was possible not to continue watching the number, since it is not something to live, but simply being in such conditions is dangerous to health. Furniture, appliances, bedding, the state of repair - all this was not just in a depressing state, but required them to be immediately thrown into a landfill and burned. Cleaning in the room has probably not been done since the commissioning of this "hotel", sneakers sticking to the floor, dirt and tangles of hair in the corners are evidence of this.
To all my comments, the Administration of this squalor threw up its hands. The replacement was offered the same miserable, rotten and dead 202 room. I refused to live in such conditions and demanded payment back. At the end of Three Hours!!! they refused to return the money to me, relying on the policy of the hotel and fines from Booking, which, as confirmed to me by phone and on speakerphone, Booking support does not exist and could not be from the word at all. I never got the money and at 12 a.m. I had to look for another hotel. No one sets foot or hand here, pass only by the side, there are many decent hotels in Istanbul for the same money.
