The impressive 13.5 m high structure is one of the most interesting historical monuments in Antalya.
The tower was erected by the Romans in the southern part of the bay presumably in the II century AD, and probably played the role of a lighthouse, as well as performed defensive functions. It is believed that the tower was used as a tomb for the family of one of the important Roman officials.

One of the postcard symbols of Turkish Antalya. It was once a lighthouse and a defensive bastion against pirate raids. It is very photogenic - all tourists here like to be photographed. It is located on the rocky shore of the old Kaleichi district, which itself is part of the city's history. There are a lot of colorful cafes and restaurants around and a beautiful seaside park begins from here.
