The territory itself is green with various ponds and plants, even bananas grow)) Beach: large, white sand, umbrellas, sun beds are plentiful, there are always free ones, there are individual sun beds with a mattress and canopy for $ 15, payment upon check-out by bank.The ocean is gorgeous, the color of the water changes depending on the weather. Food: there is plenty of food, of course, everything is monotonous, but in abundance. Meat is chicken, beef, pork. Seafood : fish of 4-5 species, mussels, shrimps, scallops. Vegetables: cucumbers, tomatoes, greens in general are not dense with vegetables. I've never tried all the fish and vegetable salads they cook there, they don't look presentable, they fry fish, shrimp and all sorts of things in front of you, there's a queue but it doesn't take long, they do it quickly, they also cook pasta with whatever you want from their assortment, the same queue but quickly. As for the sausage, ham and salami are not bad, there are plenty of them, every day there are a couple of types of ham sliced, very tasty. I want to mention the CHEESE, there is plenty of cheese, 4-5 types and mazdam, parmesan, door blue and some more, the cheese is very tasty! Sweets: they are not friends with this, of course there are all kinds of cakes, cupcakes, cakes, jellies, but not very tasty, like Turkey or Egypt, for example, it tastes much better there. And such a diet every day is meat, seafood, etc. Take the money in dollars or euros. Dollars are even more profitable. Example: cigarettes cost $4, if you have euros, they will charge you 4 euros as well, the dollar-euro ratio is different! Should I change to pesos or not?!? We didn't change it, they accept dollars everywhere, everywhere!!! But it is better to change the exchange rate from 300-320 pesos for 1 dollar from taxi drivers or sellers in the market, DO NOT CHANGE it in hotels! You can get to Varadero from the hotel by taxi, they are on duty there all the time, the price is about $ 10-15, you need to bargain for a retro car for $ 20-25!!!! There is also a double-decker bus every 30-40min from morning to 18:00 in my opinion, the price is $ 5 per person for the whole day, the main thing is to save the ticket, then, upon boarding, they showed the ticket and drove off, and so on indefinitely on the day of purchase of this ticket. As for Varadero itself, it's just streets numbered from 11-64 udica, all traffic is on 63-64 streets, then rotten, just take a walk and that's it. Buy cigars and rum only in specialty stores, do not take it on the streets!!! You can buy a fake!!! The price of cigars and rum in Havana is cheaper. The price of the guided tours does not differ much from the guide of your tour operator or a local guide. So decide for yourself who to go with. But it's better to take individual excursions, it's a little more expensive, but you're your own director and you won't take the whole group by bus and then take it to the hotels if your hotel is the last to drop out))) It's very tiring.

I stayed at the hotel for a wonderful two weeks of vacation. The rooms are large and quite comfortable. He lived in the 19th building. The pillows and beds are comfortable, I slept well. Smoking is allowed on the balcony of the room. The view was great of the inner garden. It takes 3 minutes to walk to the ocean on the territory of the hotel. The iPhone connected to it quite problematic and not every time. There were no problems with the android. There are several restaurants on site. The food there is a little tastier than on the buffet, but I will not say that it is very different. As for breakfasts, lunches and dinners, it is quite normal, taking into account the local flavor, all the basic products have always been there. We did not experience any problems with food. It is better to get coffee at a free coffee shop or a bar at the reception. There are several pools on the territory of the hotel, but they somehow did not impress me. But the most important thing in a vacation is the beach - the beach is big with a bunch of free sunbeds, regardless of the time it came to. The sand is fine and pleasant. There aren't many people. The ocean is just gorgeous. There is a bar on the beach with free drinks. And a small life hack - it's better to take a large thermocup with you, I had 0.5 liters. It's a little more expensive than in stores, but you don't have to go anywhere. You can smoke right there, with a conder. For example, Romeo #2 is $10 in stores, but here it's $12. The main thing is not to expect anything like Turkey, the Dominican Republic or Mexico from Cuban hotels. In discussions, you can often find such a question: Is the hotel normal or has it become normal after a couple of glasses of sparkling wine?🙈 The Iberostar Selection Varadero 5* hotel falls into the second category. There won't be perfect lawns here, and the pools will smell treacherously of bleach, and the plates will always have a slight coating. All that remained was to pray and hope that this filth would not affect his well-being in any way. And now let's get down to the dry facts.: 1️⃣ Territory 5.0. The territory of the hotel is excellent for walking, well-groomed and the most important thing I want to emphasize is that the residential area is located separately from the entire entertainment infrastructure. Pools, restaurants, lobbies, and a theater are in one area, while all residential buildings are in another. This is the only hotel that has such a clear separation. This is a huge plus, it is always quiet in any building (except 19,18). And I looked at about 20 hotels on the Varadero spit. All buildings have three floors, we lived on the ground floor, and then on the 3rd floor, the 3rd floor breathes better, but the water pressure is much weaker. 2 Rooms 4.0. Side dishes: potatoes in any form (fries, mashed potatoes, rustic), plain rice and vegetables. Vegetables: sliced eggplant, pepper, a kind of squash, all lightly fried, green beans, common beans, separately dried eggplant. Inedible ... broccoli, cauliflower, and zucchini were missing. Of course, spaghetti with different fillings, pizza with different fillings (sometimes the dough is raw). Fresh vegetables: lettuce, tomatoes (often green), cucumbers, peppers, cabbage, carrots. Ready-made salads. Inedible... 🥫There is salad dressing and ketchup. Snacks: olives, olives, eggplant, pickled cucumbers and something else. In a la cart restaurants from $ 5. ❌They are cleaned superficially, swans are twisted, even with flowers once, things are not touched, they are not folded, they are not shifted, maybe this is a plus. Linen is changed every 3-4 days. No serious shoals were noticed. The Internet is weak, just like everywhere else in Cuba. They give you 7 hours, and you always need to enter your username and password. It catches well in the lobby and on the right side of the beach, where the beach bar is located. Not all rooms are available. It works better on Android than on iPhone. 6️⃣Infrastructure 5.0. 1️⃣3 a la carte restaurants, you can visit 3 times in 10 days. 2️⃣1 restaurant by the pool (once a week there is a celebration with cars and grilled dishes). The restaurant itself is weaker than the main restaurant. 3️⃣3 swimming pools (main, for water polo, and in the spa area with Jacuzzi - I recommend👍) 4️⃣Gym (small, but everything basic is there) 5️⃣Theater for evening shows 6️⃣A rum and cigar store (the choice is good, the prices are definitely lower than in Duty free for rum) 7️⃣A shop with beach clothes and souvenirs 8️⃣Cigar bar 9️⃣Spa center for a fee 🔟children's club with a big ship (old of course) 7️⃣5.0 beach. Definitely one of the best in Varadero. The sand is cleaned with a tractor "Belarus", velvety, fine, clean. The water is clear, without algae and stones. The days were different, every morning I walked along our beach from the Paradisus hotel to starfish, so it was the Selection that always had crystal clear water. Final score 4.6

The food is tolerable (probably for Cuba), we don't starve. Comparing with 5* with other countries is not appropriate. There are three restaurants by appointment, I do not recommend it. The central restaurant is just as simple and not very tasty, but there is more choice. On the beach, in the bar, you can order lobster- the price is $ 30, but they cook for 3+. The beach is beautiful, but the waves, icy wind and icy water (12/04/25). No one swims. The water in the pool is just as cold!!! What pleases is that the staff does not get impudent, does not ask, does not extort- they are smiling and friendly- but we do not regret leaving $ 1 each. The rooms are old, but they are being cleaned. Shampoo and gel are available. I recommend this hotel for the "Cuba service", but not for the time of year!!! Last time we were at the end of September, we swam and sunbathed endlessly. It's the 4th day of our vacation, and we only had a shower.

Over-salted food, of course, you won't stay hungry, but such simple mistakes surprise. The Internet is only available in the lobby, but in prime time you get cookies, not the Internet, and with an iphone it's even sadder. We should also mention the mosquitoes, they are much friendlier than the staff, they greet you immediately) although the discussing staff is excellent, which cannot be said about the lobby of "specialists". It is also a mystery why the territory is not being treated against mosquitoes. In general, of course, you can relax, but there is a certain unpleasant aftertaste. It is worth noting the marine activity, free catamaran rides, etc., well done. At the end of my vacation, I was given a check for a towel that was not handed in in the amount of $ 30, despite the fact that I actually handed it in a few days ago. I tried to explain to the staff, well, they absolutely don't care what you think, at least they warned you that when you hand over the excess, you need to put a mark, and it looks like a big divorce for money. No, we're not. And you shouldn't come here either. About the Iberostar Selection Varadero hotel, by the way, one of the best. There is plenty of food in the canteen, but not for gourmets. Made of meat: fish, chicken, pork. For pieces of fried fish and pork, you need to stand in line at lunch and in the evening. There are drinks in the lobby bars, alcohol is free, but bottles of expensive alcoholic beverages are not these drinks, but pale. Cockroaches are crawling on the tables in the food zone, which is the norm. Tea and honey are stored in the lobby bar under the waste collection tanks. The rooms are clean, moderately shabby, with dirty blankets, dirty and badly washed towels. And the system of fines in any hotel: water in glass bottles, - broke the bottle, - pay the fine. To get beach towels, they are issued on deposit ($ 30 per flight), so they only need to be changed and, at no time, do not forget at the exchange desk! After analyzing the situation with beach towels, I insist that with such a fine system, the vacationer protects towels from the staff. That is, we protect beach towels like the apple of our eye, because employees can take them home, and we will pay a fine of $ 30 for every one we waste. A paradoxical way out to stop the looting of property. About electricity: periodically, they can turn off the electric power for 10 minutes. There is an energy crisis in Cuba, so there are very few outlets in the rooms. If the general air conditioning system or switches/sockets are not working, then you should not expect that the malfunction will be fixed immediately. No, the more idle equipment, etc., the lower the consumption of electrical energy. Cuba is a Spanish-speaking country, so there are many Spaniards in hotels and, believe me, the staff treats them like fellow countrymen, not Russians. Holidays in Russia, Turkey and Egypt are cheaper, flying is much closer, there are no fines, there is no need to protect the property of the hotel from the hotel staff.

A great hotel with a beautiful territory, well maintained, clean and spacious! I really liked it! We had a family vacation with our granddaughter for 8 years. The beach is gorgeous, the water is wonderful. There is a huge swimming pool on the territory, there is enough space for everyone. Beautiful animation. The restaurants are nice and beautiful, but the food is bland, to put it mildly. One big drawback is mosquitoes and midges like mosquitoes, repellents do not help much.

I stayed at this hotel back in 2008. We were in October. After another hurricane. But we realized that this is the norm for this period. Thunderstorms thundered and it rained every evening, but exactly 30 minutes and everything is fine again and again the sun goes into the clouds. The territory is large, you can have fun in the central pool with animators and relax on the beach far from everyone. Good service, friendly atmosphere, the staff is smiling and responsive. Afternoon card games at the bar are a separate kind of pleasure. The story of a two-week vacation in Cuba cannot fit into a small review. It is necessary to visit there. We were a family at the end of November 2021 for a week. I liked everything: the food (although they don't know how to cook), and the beach (awesome sandy spit, clean, generous with cleaning the beach) and the fact that the Internet is free (luxury for Cuba), but ...someone started biting us THERE at night, our feet itched, spots, and every night more and more. I was so euphoric that my thoughts were: local insects, I will survive, it will pass at home. Yeah. Yesterday we arrived and the next night showed new bites, someone was crawling for me, I didn't really sleep, I looked at insects in the morning, I didn't find them (as a person who hadn't encountered this before, I didn't know that they were so small). I arrived from work, rushed to the bed: oh my God, BEDBUGS are breeding almost in front of my eyes! BOTTOM LINE: I treated everything with expensive insect sprays, tomorrow I asked to leave work early to meet sanitation with a cold mist, otherwise they will not leave. Thank you hotel!!! Crossed out all the good things that I wrote about you above. They also don't know how to make alcoholic cocktails there)) but these are also small things for me. BUT NOT BEDBUGS! Note: I wasn't the only one there who didn't know. And there were people, foreigners, who swore and started cleaning their room with just a damp cloth, haha. But, of course, I did not understand the reasons for the scandals then.
