If the purpose of the visit / trip to Turkey is to learn more about its history, then it is definitely worth visiting the museum, the queue is certainly large, it is better to plan a visit in advance

A wonderful museum, included in the museum map of Istanbul. A huge number of Greek statues from the 6th-7th centuries, sarcophagi, and many interesting exhibits:Vases, ornaments, objects are forgotten. An interesting exhibit showing the excavation process.

This time we were unlucky - the department of the ancient East and the museum of tiles were closed. The actual archaeological exposition turned out to be smaller than five years ago. Museum design also leaves much to be desired.

Incredibly cool. At first it's unusually dark, then you get used to it. It's very atmospheric. Excellent exposure. There is an audio guide in Russian.

I won't say that it's not interesting, there is something to see, an audio guide in Russian. The cost is 25 euros per person, children under 8 years old are free of charge. But it's very small. After 1.5 hours, we have already looked at everything.

A wonderful collection. It's a pity that the backlight is so contrasting and the background is not dark red as before, but mottled. It's too bad that there are no catalogues or books about the museum in the museum store. But the collection is wonderful!

The museum is interesting, but two-thirds of the exposition is closed for restoration. The ticket price remained the same 😏 (340) lira. If you have been to the St. Petersburg Hermitage or the archaeological museums of Europe, you will not see anything new. The inspection takes no more than an hour.

The museum is good, there are video stands, and even a mummy. But they could not connect the audio guide, because the Wi-Fi was not connected. Something got messed up with him, I had to use the mobile Internet and translate through Yandex translator.

It is mandatory to visit, especially since all other museums with Greek and Roman heritage are closed. The exposition is extensive, there are many sculptures. But the last floor is a cringe, ahah. It's kind of about excavations.

I'm thrilled. There are so many exhibits that you can see with your own eyes, and not in a history textbook. Coins, figurines, oil lamps. I was impressed by the video in the science hall about how the excavations are going on. Goosebumps already. A very good museum.

The museum is great. They were in April 2023. They didn't give out audio guides. Only the main building is working, the rest are under reconstruction, it is not known when they will open. The Ishtar Gate is also under restoration. The price is 200 lire ticket, 75 lire audio guide, which was not there. It's sad without an audio guide. The cafe on site is such a mess, the coffee is full of slag, like most places in Istanbul.

The entrance to the museum is 200 liras at the time of the review.
There was no queue on a weekday before lunch until 11, there was a small queue at the exit.
The museum left a positive impression,
thanks to the attention to detail, interactive exhibitions, and a small number of tourists. All this creates an atmosphere of relaxation with benefits.
It took me 1.5 hours to check up. The statue of Macedonian Zeus was impressed, and the marble sculpture of hemophrodite deserves special attention.
It will be interesting for children - there is an exposition showing in which cultural layer that is located, a separate room is dedicated to archeology - there is an interactive, microscopes, you can feel like a scientist in a laboratory.
In the end, I took a Turkish coffee for 42 lira and drank it surrounded by ruins, watching Gulhane Park from a height.
I did not take an audio guide - there is a lot of information about each epoch on the Internet and visiting the museum just inspired a desire to read historical literature.
To popularize archaeology, it is necessary to film the final episode of the series in a room with sarcophagi.
I recommend it to history lovers, parents with children.

I do not regret the 200 lire spent at all.
I especially liked the narrative about archaeology in general. Instead of a sheet of text, there is a competent exposition and a good film for a few minutes.
I liked that the coins are sorted by rulers.
