Sculpture and memorial complex to Kayum Mukhumedkhanov The opening of the sculpture and memorial complex to Kayum Mukhamedkhanov is timed to celebrate the 165th anniversary of Abai in Semey. Kayum Mukhamedkhanov is an outstanding countryman, the author of the first anthem of Kazakhstan, an abaiologist, poet, scientist, associate of Mukhtar Auezov, an honorary citizen of the city. The idea of a monument named after the outstanding scientist Kayum Mukhamedkhanov was proposed about a year ago by prominent figures of science and culture of Kazakhstan – Azilkhan Nurshaikhov, Bibigul Tulegenova, Gerold Belger, Asanali Ashimov, Murat Auezov, Garifolla Yesim. The famous sculptor Orazambai Bekbayev managed to embody the idea in bronze and stone. The sculptural memorial composition consists of a stele and three pylons. A bronze bust of Kayum Mukhamedkhanov is installed on the leading stele, his gaze is directed to the great future of Kazakhstan. On the first pylon, an artistic mosaic is artfully laid out, dedicated to a woman, one of the wives of the repressed, as a symbol of the devoted companions of prominent figures of Kazakhstan. The middle pylon is decorated with a three-dimensional inscription "Kayim Mukhamedkhanov" and a medallion "The Ballad of the Old Hawk". The poem of the same name dedicated to Kayum Mukhamedkhanov was written by the Semey poet Kusmila Nurkasym. The third pylon contains a bronze bas-relief depicting prominent figures of the Alash Horde, fighters for the independence of Kazakhstan." It is difficult to overestimate the merits of Kayum Mukhamedkhanov before the Fatherland. He did not even wish for his own freedom and health for the sake of truth in the development of Kazakh literature. His fate has absorbed the most important milestones in the history of our country. Significant events in the history of Kazakhstan are focused in his life and work. "Kayum Mukhamedkhanov himself represented an entire school of literary studies, Abai studies. He was and remains a leading Abai scholar. We have said and repeat without exaggeration that all his adult life he was not only a researcher of Abai's heritage, but also a devoted fighter for heritage," the poet Yedil Asylbek notes. In addition, it was Kayum Mukhamedkhanov who returned Shakarim and a whole galaxy of banned writers and poets to Kazakh literature. The scientist's students and associates intend to continue the work of their mentor. For these purposes, the established public foundation "Kayum Mukhamedkhanov Center for Education and Culture" conducts scientific work to preserve and study the richest archive collected by the researcher throughout his life. His manuscripts and correspondence require careful study and analysis. The contribution of the scientist to the development of science in Kazakhstan is so great that his archive is rightfully called part of the cultural heritage of the nation. Literature: Gulyaeva E.
