I faced an extremely unpleasant situation when I decided to transfer funds from my Uzbek Visa card to their Visa card. Since I am a client of this bank and fully trust its reputation, I was sure that the process of transferring funds would be quick and without any problems. However, when I received the amount on the new card, it was significantly lower than I expected.
After studying the issue, I found out that the bank converted my dollars not at the official exchange rate indicated on their website, but at some incomprehensible internal rate, which is obviously less profitable for customers. In addition, the cost of this operation turned out to be quite high, which was an unpleasant surprise for me.
I tried to contact the bank's support service to sort out this situation and return to me the difference between the expected and actually received amount. However, to my surprise, the support staff did not pay due attention to my problem and did not offer any specific solutions. Instead, they referred to some internal rules and instructions of the bank, which, in their opinion, exclude the possibility of an error on the part of the bank.
