One of the few "wild" places in Abkhazia, you can safely skip, heading to the Small Canyon. A local resident told us about this fortress. The uphill climb will have to be overcome on your own feet, about half an hour, sometimes very steep and difficult. That's why this mountain is wild and interesting. Along the way, you can find wild figs and blackberry bushes growing on the trees. There will be a stunning view at the top, if you're lucky, then with clouds)

There is little left of the fortress, the walls are partially, but piles of stones, everything is heavily overgrown. A mysterious place. Most likely, the Byzantine fortress was built at the same time as the basilica on the shore, in Tsandripsha. It is about 545 A.D. It is not very clear why there is a fortress - "on a mountain in the mountains. What she was protecting, from whom... But the place... It's impressive.

An ancient fortress that is not included in the tourist routes and is rarely visited. To get there, you need to find the right path and climb 900 meters up. I marked a landmark in the photo. From the top there is a wonderful view of the sky and the mountains from above. The climb is not easy, put on sneakers and be careful with prickly plants.

A place that is undeservedly bypassed by excursion programs. Fortresses for more than 10 centuries! Unfortunately, the once powerful structure without proper maintenance will soon be lost.
If you walk this difficult path to the ruins, you will understand why the fortress was considered impregnable. The view from above is fantastic! At the level of your eyes, the peaks of the mountains are scattered in the clouds.
I recommend you to visit!
