I was lucky to be there in winter. An unforgettable experience. An empty Temple, a wrought-iron chandelier sways softly, and there is silence around ... an incredible feeling when you are alone on a high snow-covered mountain, as if time has stopped. This is exactly the time and place to think about a lot of things.

A magical place ❤️ Autumn beautiful view . It 's a little bit up to the monastery , but for a low tide pitchfork you need to climb even higher up the mountain !!! Don't take pigeons!!! As soon as you take it , they will make you pay among themselves again, who will be the first 😄😄

One of the favorite places in the world! We visit every time we visit Armenia. The strongest energy. And in sunny weather - the most beautiful view of Ararat.

The temple is located at the foot of Mount Ararat, in the ancient capital of Armenia - Artashat. Khor virap means a deep pit, it was there, in underground casemates, that St. Gregory, the Enlightener of Armenia and the first Catholicos of all Armenians, spent 13 years of imprisonment (from 287-300). According to legend, a woman passed water and food along a rope, and the snake became the only visitor... The depth of the pit is 6 meters along a narrow passage, going down, it seemed that much more, the feeling on the edge, and scary, and interesting. That's how I voluntarily found myself imprisoned for a few minutes and touched the shrine of the great, long-suffering people (Tsavet a nem) ... 642, a chapel was built over the dungeon, and in 1661 a temple was erected....

Beautiful view of the biblical Ararat, a unique place. Be sure to go down to the underground prison where Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 14 years

A picturesque place, very beautiful, the view of Mount Ararat is amazing. But there is also a problem. Firstly, parking, which should be free, but local residents organized a spontaneous collection of payment. You don't have to pay, we didn't, referring to the fact that the locals told us that parking was free. We were already leaving, so it wasn't scary for the car. If they had approached us on arrival, they probably would have paid for the car, fearing for it. Secondly, do not agree to be photographed with pigeons, they will strip you like a stick, golden pigeons will turn out. Don't even take them in your hands for a second, then don't turn away. That was the case a few years ago, perhaps something has changed now.
