The film Winter Evening in Gagra, which was filmed here, brought additional fame to this place. There is a beautiful and clean fountain in the center of the square. In the center of the fountain is a sculpture of a white dove, symbolizing peace. Next to the square where the colonnade is located, there is a Seaside park, a beautiful embankment, the famous old Gagripsh restaurant, and an old, rather dilapidated cinema. In the center of staraya Gagra there is a local landmark - an Openwork colonnade.
On the one hand, the square with a colonnade overlooks the avenue , and on the other - the Seaside Park and immediately the descent to the sea .
This structure consists of four snow-white towers and beautiful openwork arcades , between the arcades there are columns , columns - 45 .
The number 45 is symbolic , as this building is dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1945 .
The arches of the Colonnade are very elegant , there is evening illumination.
There is a fountain on the square in front of the colonnade.
There is a pedestal in the center of the fountain , which is crowned by a sculpture of a pigeon .
Across the street is the former Gagra cinema, where the film ‘Winter Evening in Gagra " was shot.
From a distance , he looks decent , but when we approached him , I was upset , the building is in a very neglected state , the area around is unkempt .

We were there in April 2025. We came for the second time, as it was the first time we saw the colonnade briefly as part of the tour. During this visit, we managed to walk in the park and along the seashore, admiring the beauty of the Abkhazian landscapes. The only negative... these are the toilets that are not working and the nearby cafes (but it's probably not the season yet).

It's very crowded, noisy, cars, taxi drivers.. but the park is wonderful, green, well-groomed, beautiful.. It was recently restored with Moscow (or just Russian, I don't remember) money, it's a pleasure to walk. Just don't forget - you can't pay with a card almost anywhere, cash or transfer.

Quite an iconic and interesting landmark of Gagra.
The colonnade is located on the Seaside embankment of Staraya Gagra. The white pillars and the arcade of the colonnade organically harmonize with the greenery of palm trees, gray pebbles and turquoise of the sea on a warm autumn day. And in a storm, the colonnade looks gorgeous against the background of a raging wave and a leaden sky.
The colonnade has a fountain. The backlight works at night. In the evenings, artists perform with live music. They offer to take pictures with exotic bird species. Nearby there are many cafes and a walking area, several beaches.
In general, I really liked this attraction. I recommend you to visit.

The place is familiar from childhood. Nothing new has been built in Abkhazia. What was built by the hands of Soviet people was not preserved. There are a couple of familiar places from which Abkhazia feeds, they are maintained in a more or less adequate condition. What is striking is what was done under Soviet rule and repaired by independence. So, during the Soviet era, sidewalks, stairs, building plinths and facades were built from natural, hewn stone, and now everything is made of Dechman decorative concrete and the same poor tiles. There is a lot of cheap plastic in the finishes. They ground it up, they don't want to work, they exploit the remnants of the Soviet era. It's a pity, nature is heavenly, lazy people got it.

Gagra Abaata ..winter theater ..the colonnade
The GAGRIPSH restaurant is expensive, but it is the entrance to the historical portal. Go out on the balcony of the restaurant and imagine how many outstanding people stood and looked into the distance at the sea and the park. I really liked GAGRA and especially the AMRA PARK hotel.
