The hotel is very well located, the ocean is nearby, the rooms are tired, but you can live, some of the outlets did not work, the safe was also faulty, the food is like in Cuba, you need a chef, you can not cook, but you will not stay hungry, there is pork, chicken, fish, fruit, fresh. We stayed here for 12 nights from 04/25/2025. The tour was bought in Pegasus. You shouldn't come here. This is not five stars at all, but about 2++. Everything is in decline, although remnants of former luxury are visible. But now there is not a single sports ground in an acceptable condition, half of the buildings are empty, animation (daytime/evening) is great! The food is poor, the service is terrible. For example, there is delicious ice cream, but I had to eat it with forks, because they don't put tea spoons ANYWHERE. Seafood is only fried mussels and breaded squid rings, which were prepared sometime in advance and served cold and sluggish ... they don't let you drink. To be clear: the minibar is replenished per day with one bottle of water and two small cans of beer (disgusting). At the same time, the last three days were limited only to a bottle of water. Waiters train tourists for tips - all their actions are subordinated to receiving dollars or euros. There is one unconditional positive moment - the gorgeous sea and wonderful sand. I'll never come here again. I don't recommend it to anyone.

I liked the hotel - cozy houses, rooms are cleaned every day, but towels were changed only once. Beach towels can be changed by yourself. A great bar, where there is a lot of rum and new cocktails were offered every day. The food is not particularly varied, but you will not stay hungry. The pool was cleaned every morning, and there was also a bar and cafe at the pool. The sea is close. When the electricity went out in Cuba after the storm, we were in the light and on Wi-Fi, as the generator was working.

I was in Cuba for the first and last time. We took the hotel as a 5-star all-inclusive, but in fact you have to pay everywhere: the maids (although they didn't change towels, they didn't leave water, the bar wasn't updated, they demanded toilet paper with a scandal at the reception), waiters, cooks, bartenders - pay, even after the show (amateur performance would have been better) went begging with a hat for the audience. In general, I got the impression that there are Gypsies who are lazy and want money. The territory is large, the gardeners work well. We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks from January 14th to 28th. The weather was good the first week, the second cold and windy. We went for the second week in warm clothes, and we could keep warm under a hot shower. In general, I was not satisfied with such a "vacation".

Such a hotelier. We were already driving with the understanding that this is Cuba and the 5-star level is not worth waiting for here. by Moscow standards, it's probably 2 or 3 stars.The room was good: on the 3rd floor, overlooking the pool. There was electricity and hot water in the room (the water pressure is weak. They don't clean very well (despite the fact that we left tips every day) - we didn't get drinking water several times. The food is just terrible - there's nothing to eat except fruit, an edible omelet and cheese for breakfast, that's all. The only meat is pork, which I don't eat. Everything else is cooked abominably (at the same time, we were in restaurants on excursions - it tastes much better there). Never ask for coffee at breakfast - it's just trash. Decent coffee only in the bar. At the same time, the staff tries their best, even without tips. I probably won't be going back to Cuba anymore.

There are few advantages, but still there, namely: - Large landscaped area. Clean, well-groomed, nice to walk - Clean beach. Almost no algae, they are collected and buried here every few days. There is absolutely (!) no garbage - Availability of sun beds. They came at different times, and they always were. On the beach, they will help you take out/bring in a chaise longue. - Drinks will be served in the dining room, even without a tip - The room has a nice shower. No water needs to be passed, the faucet is working properly. For some, this is self-evident, but based on my experience in hotels, I can confidently say that this is a really huge plus. - Management responds to requests. There is a Russian-speaking assistant at the reception. - Delicious ice cream, and good pastries. - Smiling staff, and everywhere. We're done with the pros. Let's go cut down the truth of the uterus - The number. I've never seen anyone so tired, even in 3 stars. The walls are white, and you can see absolutely everything on them. And you can see cobwebs, and dirt, and mold, and streaks. Greasy lampshades, cabinets, tables, and unplugged sockets are the norm. - There is no kettle. - Food. You can talk for a long time here. Visually, there is a lot of food, the tables are literally bursting with it, everything is bright and colorful. But the taste of this food… Only eggs are edible for breakfast, but there is a queue for them. Fruits and vegetables are fodder. Only papaya and pineapples are delicious. Green watermelons, green tomatoes (this is not such a variety. The taste corresponds to green tomatoes), cucumbers with seeds like zucchini. There are so-called composite and green salads. It is impossible to eat, half of them are sour or bland. I suspect they were sliced from leftovers. Roast pork, white fish, mussels. If the queue is long, then the meat may simply not be cooked for you. Local chefs don't know that mussels need to be fried for 2 minutes, and they serve you almost coals. Soup is just a greasy liquid with rare inclusions. Water is poured from bottles, but sometimes it is from the tap (here is a rebus). In short, we went every time and thought what else could be done wrong. But it's more funny, without humor, I just want to cry). As a result, we chose a relatively safe and tasteless snack and, as they say, refueled. - Room cleaning. They'll make your bed, wipe the floor with a rag. Towels will be changed sometimes. And that's it. We broke the glass, removed only the large fragments, no one thought to sweep up the small ones. Toiletries, including paper, must be requested at the reception. Tips don't work, they'll only give you towel hearts for them. - The toilet didn't work well in 2441. You can drain the water only once, then wait for 15 minutes. There is no toilet brush, but it's even a shame to write it. In general, you can write off everything that this is Cuba, that there is a shortage and crisis everywhere, but in fact the problem is only in people and their relationships. There's nothing to do without humor and strong nerves. "Thank you for not punching me in the face" has been the motto these 2 weeks.

In the room : 1 towel per person , 2 soaps , 1 bottle ~ 150 ml with shower gel, 1 with shampoo . 1 bottle of 1.5 liters of water for two, 2 cups)), the refrigerator is empty and works very loudly. There are no blankets, there are very old bedspreads that are thrown over the sheets if you are cold)). There is no drinking water!!!!!!, only 1 1.5 liter bottle for two people per day, you can ask for a glass of water in the lobby bar, There is no tea, coffee, or water in the restaurant for dinner! Cockroaches are running around . Food..... it's a sin to write badly about her, but the fruits are unripe, a lot of canned, they cook worse than me,))), and I only spoil the products. The air conditioner is working, but almost all the buttons are depressed, if you open the balcony, mosquitoes fly. (number 1963) The area is barely lit . Staff ....... They probably haven't had a day off in a long time. No need to go to this hotel, it's a vacation , not survival.

I have vacationed in the Caribbean four times, but we went to Cuba in mid-September 2024 in the hope of relaxing as before with the comfort provided by the 5* Classic Room hotel - Type of food: All Inclusive. Just in case, I will tell you that such a hotel is obliged to provide a daily change of linen, round-the-clock appropriate hot meals and the whole range of alcoholic and other beverages (even if not always in the restaurant), individual hygiene kits in the right amount and of course the necessary amount of drinking water and possibly drinks in the room. At the hotel (previously it was a grid with great service) MELIA, specifically MELIA PENINSULA VARADERO ����� (where 😔 is a star) for 320,000 rubles for 11 days, upon arrival (the flight takes 12.5 hours plus an hour to the hotel) we were provided with a room in which people lived, the second room it did not open, the third turned out to have a bad air conditioning system (this disease is in every room here, not counting the outgoing wi-fi) and poor water supply in the faucet. As a result, we live in the fourth room, but also with a problem-the refrigerator does not freeze. For information, my opinion is: The Cuban people are the laziest of all the Kiribis in o priore, and even more so referring to the small state s/p (here "olla socialism" and everything belongs to the state), they do everything slowly in the hope that they will not need to do it or they will give money at least $ 1, a dollar in the field of local tourism is at least, and sometimes $ 5 as a matter of course ($ 5 is, if anything, a fifth of the normal salary, they quickly became addicted and do not agree to anything less, and do not want to do anything without additional payment). The answer to all problematic questions is "tomorrow"! The only positive is the bar in front of the beach, all of the drinks are very unexpectedly delicious and beautifully prepared by a pleasant guy, sincere and good-natured, without a shift, maybe that's why he tries ... (the snack bar should work, but it is closed for their long repair) and of course the magical ocean with a sandy white relatively clean shore. We asked our tourists - such a mess in Cuba everywhere! Something is better, something is worse. And in the Iberostar grid there is also such a gov… In general, guys, Cuba is not the place to go, nothing will ever get better here, no matter what they offer - everything is rubbish, they will wither away in poverty. Don't think that I'm exaggerating, I don't need it! But if you still decide to go to this beautiful, but unkempt place (it's a pity, it could well be Heaven on Earth), take with you thermocups for drinks (you can have liter ones, they are poured without question coffee, juices, beer, wine), sugar (it may run out in the restaurant at any moment), a lot mosquito repellents in the form of a spray bottle, dental and other supplies, all kinds of medicines and, of course, dollars in small bills (they do not need pesos). In principle, it makes no sense to connect the roaming service, the connection disappears, the wi-fi network crashes four times a day (you have to run to the reception sometimes you will hear "tomorrow"), and if there is no wi-fi at the same time, therefore there is no cellular connection.

I stayed at this hotel in early September 2023. I chose intuitively from the pictures without reading the reviews. The hotel is great! Beautiful territory, excellent beach. There is a lot of food, varied, a lot of fruits, you will never stay hungry. There were no problems with the sunbeds. The animation is excellent both at the hotel and on the beach. The staff is polite, friendly, helpful, NOT necessarily for tips. Great excursions to Havana and the Caribbean, the guide Rufino is handsome! A heavenly Paradise on earth!!!

One of the advantages is a lot of fruits! Nice beach! Not a bad animation! Of the cons, there are no juices, cocktails are made only with sprite and Cola! No pinot colada! The eternal problem with champagne! There are only French fries in the snack bar, sometimes there is a sausage in a bun, even without sauces, because there are none! Everything is very monotonous in the restaurant! Only cucumbers are made of vegetables! It's all the same, but cut into different types! There's baked hair in the pizza! Our friends were vacationing at the same time with us in neighboring hotels - believe me, this is heaven and earth!!!! Everything was ok there, not in this hotel! Towels have not been changed for 6 days, bed linen too! The water is put on only when you remind me three times, the mini bar has never been refilled! In the evening, there is not a single backlight on the territory of the hotel, everyone walks with their flashlights on their phone! I do not recommend going to this hotel! He's not worth his money at all!

The gorgeous, very beautiful territory of the hotel. It's worth choosing Peninsula just for this. The food, as in other hotels, is so-so. It's still fine on the first day, and then it gets boring, and it doesn't taste good. It's the same thing every day! The rooms are not bad, with a large balcony and a good shower. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and we liked it, but it would have been boring there longer, just like in any other hotel!

We rested in a big company, the first week was great. Lots of new acquaintances, positivity and relaxation. In the second week, the boarding house buses were delivered, it became a little sad in the evenings ... but overall cool. I advise you to get out, definitely take a walk around the night Varadero, see the area, visit the clubs. But, be sure to take the local currency, there is a wild overpayment with bucks. If you walk during the day, you can't buy almost anything for bucks, only in private stores. I spent half an hour looking for where to buy regular water. Rest is definitely recommended:)

Of course, sand is not removed from natural litter. The rooms are very tired, if you don't stay in the hotel, there will be variety. This was the 1st trip to Cuba. Reading the review, you need to understand that Cuba is not the Maldives or Dubai or even Turkey, the level of service is much lower, and 5 in Cuba is 3 in the above countries. If you do not find fault, then the gorgeous sea and cool excursions negate all the disadvantages of the hotel (problems with opening doors, laziness of the staff, dirt, etc.). The food in the hotel is excellent and most importantly a lot, on excursions tourists from other hotels complained that there was nothing to eat except bread, they bought fruits on the way, but fruits were always available in unlimited quantities. Seafood is impossible to eat. I chose 2-3 conditional tasteless meals for myself))) and just "refueling." Forget about the pleasure of food! In addition, there is a large army of well-fed red cockroaches marching through the restaurant. They obviously like this place))) The only thing that is really edible here is fries by the pool) I absolutely cannot understand how many years it took to diligently dirty the lobby bar counter so that it was in such a state that it was simply disgusting to approach it. The rooms are spacious, the balcony is large. That's it! There is a feeling that homeless people brought furniture to the rooms from the garbage dump. By the way, she was also never washed. The bed linen is stained all over. The sockets sparkle. Do not try to move the bed in search of an extra. sockets, there is such a mess that there are simply no words. Tips do not help the room to become cleaner, but with their help, a phallic construction of a blanket on the bed can appear. Did I like Cuba very much! But Varadero is not Cuba, it is a branch of Hell on earth. The problem, as it turned out, is that hotels on Varadero are regulated by the state. For a miserable salary, employees simply do not care about quality. Incredible private hotels, mind-blowing architecture, cool restaurants and a bunch of other interesting things - this is Havana. Unreal nature - Vinales Valley. All this is worthy of attention and made me fall in love with Cuba! I will not return to Varadero even if they are willing to pay me for it.

My husband and I went on vacation to Melia on our honeymoon, and presented a copy of the marriage certificate at the check-in. As a result, we were presented with a bottle of rum and one day breakfast was brought to bed - it was very pleasant! The hotel staff have a very low salary, so the advice is to tip them, especially since their hospitality is worth it. Since the situation with any medicines in Cuba is deplorable, tips can also be left with pills - they will be very happy, for example, with our usual paracetamol.

The Melia Peninsula Varadero 5* Hotel is the worst five-star hotel you can imagine! I agree that the price for it is not super high, but even it seems huge for such a quality of accommodation and service ... travelers who decide to come here will face a cloud of household problems, such as: non-working air conditioners, periodically disconnecting sockets, missing water, non-working toilets, burnt-out light bulbs, a lot of incomprehensible insects in the rooms, lack of cleaning and, as a result, lack of drinking water in the rooms. The reception is disgusting, there is one answer to all questions: “one moment”... the moment lasts at least a day. It all starts with a check-in that lasts for hours, 2-3 hours and voila! You are in a "wonderful" room with cockroaches and no light (water, telephone, etc.). In some buildings, there are phones in the rooms that do not work, in some there are no phones at all... that is, if you have a problem, you go to the reception with your legs-at least 5 minutes in the heat, if you are lucky, and your building is nearby, then you stand in line at the reception and ... get an answer "one moment, please.” And so several times a day, if you have unlimited patience! They do not clean here every day, towels are not changed at all, they are white, on the fifth day they turn gray....according to the established tradition, dirty towels were placed on the floor, but these signs from above are not familiar to the local staff. If the cleaning has taken place, the gray towels are hanging on the dryer. Despite the fact that every day we left a dollar on the bed for a tip. As for food, this place is not at all for gourmets. They don't know how to cook, there are long queues for scrambled eggs for breakfast (get ready to spend at least 20 minutes) and for the grill, a little faster. There are almost no fresh vegetables, only huge inedible cucumbers. The rest of the vegetables are pickled or in some unthinkable vinegar dressing. There are fruits, but the choice is small. On the plus side: ice cream is offered for dinner every day. The air conditioner and extractor hood work very poorly in the dining room, so it's constantly hot and smoky from the grill, it's not lucky at all if mackerel is being fried at this moment, it smells (stinks) incredibly! There is a veranda in the dining room, it is picturesque there, but in the morning the brazen black jackdaws steal food from the plates even in your presence, it is hot in the afternoon and dark in the evening. And get ready for an unpleasant neighborhood with the local inhabitants of the dining room-cockroaches, they crawl everywhere: on walls, floors, tables, chairs and sometimes on plates. Although you get used to them :)) and another note: tourists from other hotels say that their food is even worse… A positive assessment can be given, probably, only to the quality of alcoholic beverages, the ability of some bartenders to mix delicious cocktails (but not all bartenders, as luck would have it), and excellent Spanish coffee with rum and liqueur, from which the mood lifted every morning and I wanted to run to the beach. I can say that the beautiful, unimaginable, blue, warm and mostly safe ocean pays off a lot! Before 7:00 in the morning, it is better to go and take a couch under an umbrella, otherwise you will have to lie under the scorching sun on the hot sand. This is a pleasure for fans:) Among the advantages of the hotel are evening shows, including in the pool, discos, performances by local ensembles, a fervent beach party. But there is practically no daytime animation. There is a children's club with a swimming pool, we saw it, but the children did not go there, so I cannot give an assessment. I didn't want to take bad pictures, so I put decent photos so as not to discourage the desire to go to beautiful Cuba at all!

I do not know what the girl's name was, there are no badges, but she ignored all requests with her mouth, did not answer questions and ran to her back room. Therefore, we spent the whole vacation talking only with the hotel directors. And this is where we lived, like, in a premium class room. My vacation and impressions of Cuba were partially ruined. The food is nothing special. We were in mango season, so there were a lot of them. For the rest - fish (one kind), pork, spaghetti, partially (but not always), cucumbers and tomatoes, sweets. But there is plenty of alcohol. Somewhere in the dining room, I killed cockroaches twice. There was work on the street and one girl, so she just took the glasses and brought what she thought was necessary, without asking us, with the words: three water! The dishes are all dirty. And she put them on loudly, and for the next few days she completely ignored the drinks, so we went to the lobby to get them 😂 So do not consider this hotel as 5, it is 3 or even 2 stars.

An unforgettable 11 days in Melia Peninsula. I am still impressed by the beautiful grounds and the beautiful palm trees of this hotel. Stunning ocean, beach. Excellent management, daily cleaning, rooms are clean and spacious, the food is varied. The staff is friendly, they try very hard. I especially want to mention the animation - Luis, Rigo, Ella, Chocolate Lily, Charlie, etc. They entertain all day: stretching, yoga, volleyball, salsa lessons on the beach in the morning, dancing, salsa by the pool in the afternoon, shows for children and adults in the evening, disco, guest singers. I am very happy with my vacation, will I come back here - definitely yes

I give the stars to the staff - positive! The problem of leadership! The beach towels could only be changed after 4 days!!!! There were no clean ones! There are catastrophically not enough sun beds and they are in poor condition. If the hotel had positioned itself as 3-4 stars, there would not have been so much disappointment! We are very sorry that we did not believe the negative reviews! You can close your eyes to many things, but the abundance of cockroaches in the main restaurant 😱😱😱Not one or two!!! In bread baskets, on countertops with food - everywhere!!!! A lot!!!! No one will change the bed linen or towels in the room, even if you come for 3 weeks.

On our arrival in July 2023, there was a lot of seafood, the local fruits are perfect, chicken and grilled meat are always. The staff is friendly and ready to help with any question. Tips accepted. The beach is beautiful, the ocean is magical. There are both new and old sun beds on the beach. The rooms are clean, without any additional beauties and frills, the mini bar has only beer and water. Our vacation was a success. The main thing is to understand that you are going to Cuba.

We are currently staying at the hotel. In 10 days, we have never had our bed linen and towels changed. We've been patient for a long time, but now we're fighting with them- guest Communications is lying, we spent half a day in their office- so far we've only knocked out towels. There is a feeling that they do not change the beds and towels after the previous tenants, check when checking in!!! There is NO service, there is devastation everywhere, shit. Tons of chlorine are poured into the pool in front of the main restaurant, as it is being flooded. Chlorine hurts the eyes, the staff wears masks so as not to breathe it. And the guests should eat and breathe it! There are always no beach towels, no sun beds. I really like Cuba itself, the sea, the sun, the beach, nature - everything is great. We KNEW where we were going and were morally more than ready. But even we are shocked by such a "service".

We are resting now. Among the advantages: a huge territory and a fabulous ocean, the beach is narrow..so-so, but clean, pleasant guide Anastasia from Pegasus. The pool is great, clean. Meals on a solid three. Fish and meat are fried in front of you for a couple of minutes - everything is raw, it is impossible to eat. Desserts are terrible, consider them not. Fruits are absolutely tasteless, except papaya and pineapple, but they are not every day. Freshly squeezed juices are terrible, diluted with water, except perhaps papaya. Of the vegetables, only a tasteless cucumber. There are no soups, no porridges. A 2-year-old child has nothing to eat. Champagne, as I read in the reviews, appeared only in the last 2 days. The waiters in the restaurant work sooooo slowly, walk with dissatisfied faces, the Spaniards are served in a completely different way, and the Russians with dissatisfied faces! And in general, the whole staff is kind of unhappy, sad and sad. If you can still eat something at breakfast and lunch, then you have to stand in a huge queue at dinner...a man of 10..15..just for pasta. Today I stood for 30 minutes, then turned around and left. Well, you make pasta in advance with different additives and there will be no such thing. Cocktails on the beach are bad. The only good ones are in the lobby bar. The restaurant itself is so old that it's a shame for Cubans. We left gifts for the maids - they didn't twist any swans for us, they didn't even leave shower gel as it should be. The sunbeds are sooo old, in a dead condition. Russians mostly rest - it's a shame for their own...they behave like scoundrels. The furniture in the room is dead, the pillows are uncomfortable, you can't sort out the safe without a bottle of rum, apparently. In general, there is a feeling of sadness and sadness in the hotel.
