I agree with the commentators saying that the museum is small. I expected to see more. There are definitely good exhibits for the lovers of Anatolian history but it didn’t really show the greatness of the nation. Also the price is pretty high for that experience

A must-visit, the museum's premises and exhibits will allow you to plunge into the ancient history of these places. It's a pity that the information plates for the exhibits are purely in Turkish, but you can get an audio guide in English.

The museum is not big, we went around in 30 minutes, and it took about 15 minutes to get around the park. The price is 350 lire per person, it's a bit greedy to pay for it. Then we walked to the walls of some kind of castle. A replica of the old city is being built inside it. It's a pity the top of the castle was closed, and there's a viper pit and a construction site around, but the panorama from there is the best in the city. You can go cleanly if you have time, but there is nowhere to put it in Ankara. Overall, it's not bad.

Disappointment. Firstly, the museum is, in fact, very small - only 3 long halls. Secondly, everything is interesting, of course, but only those who are interested in such things and are well versed in them can truly appreciate it. So there is no "obligation" in this museum, moreover, in my opinion, for most it is not worth its price.

The museum of Anatolian civilizations consists of two buildings, a bedesten and an inn. The artifacts collected in the castle before (1921) were moved here and the museum was opened to visitors in 1943. Historical finds such as the three-thousand-year-old desk of King Midas, the Hittite solar course are located here. The Hittites created state archive retention tablets. The period from the late Hittite to the Phrygians is the Iron age, and this age is dark.  Alacahöyük is the first national excavation. The works that appeared there are exhibited here.  The artifacts found during the excavations in Kültepe... Cuneiform tablets from Kültepe…  kanish/neşa (hatti city principality, Assyrian trade colonies came here), karum (a place that developed as a trade) exhibits examples... The Midas tumulus.. Fibula (sewing material) invented in Phrygians... As a result, it is possible to see in a shocking way in this museum how difficult a place of testing this world has been from the past to the present. It takes two hours for those who want to travel in detail.

The surroundings of Ankara Castle have been turned into a cultural center. The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations is also here. Magnificent artifacts belonging to the Roman and Byzantine Empires, which also existed in prehistoric times, are exhibited in it. It would be a big disadvantage to live in Ankara and not see this place. There is plenty of seating area inside the museum. There are also stores that sell replica products. 18 years and under, 65 years and over, Museum Card holders are free of charge. The biggest problem is that the museum does not have its own parking lot. Parking lots located in the vicinity are 100 liras.

The first museum opened by the state of the Republic of Turkey. It was first opened in Akkale, located in Ankara Castle, and then moved to its current location, Bedestene. The area in Akkale, where it was first opened, is currently being used as a warehouse. It is a very rich museum, especially in terms of Phrygian and Hittite artifacts.
