Probably not many people know about it. But this is the place that many doctors of the world consider it their duty to visit.
The mausoleum is located in the suburbs of Vinnytsia, not far from the estate of the great surgeon, in the underground room of the church. The church was built with the money of N. I. Pirogov's widow and donations from his numerous disciples, who thus expressed their love for him and gratitude for the fact that he gave them his knowledge and experience so that they could continue his work — selfless service to people.
The church was active until 1956, and then it closed and was supposed to become a museum. It did not become a museum, and now there is a bust of Pirogov in the altar part. Previously, there was an entrance to the crypt behind us. But, after the reconstruction, to facilitate the visiting of the tomb by tourists, the entrance was moved to the south side. Going down a steep staircase, you find yourself in a small, dimly lit room, in the center of which there is a glass sarcophagus with the body of an old doctor.
The surgeon's well-preserved face is illuminated by soft electric light, which creates an almost complete illusion of a living face.
Interestingly, this was the first embalming in Russia. It was carried out by pumping plants and substances with an embalming effect into the circulatory system.
It was a unique operation, as it was performed without removing the brain and internal organs.
In the same crypt there are burials of relatives and friends of N. I. Pirogov.

Of course, such museums are needed. It is interesting to learn about a talented surgeon. It's a pity, of course, that he's dead. However, judging by what is written in the Bible, there is hope for the dead: "Do not marvel at this; for the time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who have done good will go out into the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil into the resurrection of condemnation" (John 5:28,29).This resurrection will take place under the rule of the Kingdom of God.What kind of Kingdom is this, and when will it begin to rule? You can find out about this if you read the Bible carefully

Just a must have to visit!
The museum is dedicated to one of the greatest people in the history of Melicina, well-groomed territory and interesting guides.
I recommend.
