Although in this once-upon-a-time castle, which later - and more than a century ago - became a prison, outwardly the current pre-trial detention center is much more than a historical landmark (see photo). But even in this capacity, as they say, "inspires". Moreover, according to the history-legend, only one prisoner escaped from it, and that one was famous (and even revered by someone). Namely, the warm-hearted and cold-headed F.E.Dzerzhinsky. Despite everything, the castle-prison is located in a kind of inappropriate way, in the very center of the Belarusian capital, and even next door to the Government House. But if you think about it, there is even a certain symbolism in this. As well as a reminder and rebuke to the "powers that be", a kind of visible and weighty argument and a mandate to serve the interests of the people and the country, and not their own.
