The Teutonic Order, under the guise of a goal - the spread of Christianity, carried out land grabbing, planning to capture Poland, and ON, and connect overland with the Livonian Order. King Vladislav II Jagiello of Poland and Grand Duke Vitovt of Lithuania (cousins) joined forces. In May 1410, troops and convoys from all over the territory of Grodno began to gather. The gathering place is under the walls of the Old Castle and near the Borisoglebskaya Church. Before Vytautas led his troops to Grunwald, a prayer service was held in the Kolozha Church, blessing the soldiers for victory. There is an ancient stone near its walls in memory of the beginning of the campaign. The sign is called "The Grunwald Chase". In the battle of Grunwald, the Teutons were completely defeated, and the Teutonic Order lost its power and died out.
