In the morning ( at 5 o'clock ) - to leave, but the car won't start. Naturally, it's hysterical, I'm a girl. Everything, I think, was given a defective car! I called the company , woke up the employee and got a full consultation. Everything was polite, calm, they said that they needed to call a taxi with a paid service "to smoke a car". It's all clear, it's her own fault. But if the box office did not respond, then in 4 hours of waiting (the company works from 9.00) and nerves, it would be possible to call an ambulance! Нужна была большая машина для путешествия по Беларуси с семьей и взяли в этом прокате Dodge Journey 2018 года на 7 мест - отличная большая машина, чистая, аккуратная. Брали на неделю и не возникло никаких вопросов, все хорошо) Спасибо менеджеру Артёму, все подробно рассказал и показал по автомобилю! In addition, the TMPS malfunction indicator was constantly burning on the car (tire pressure, it was mentioned when receiving the car), when driving on the highway, the VSA indicator lit up (a malfunction of the dynamic stabilization system, perhaps it was also one of the causes of instability), the Break indicator (brake system) periodically lit up. In this situation, it would be logical to return the car, but since all the problems did not appear immediately (the first two days the car was just standing in Minsk, I received it on October 22 only because the initial rental agreement was from October 22 to October 31), and on the third day, after we drove away from Minsk kilometers 100, and in order not to spoil the vacation for loved ones, given the driving experience of more than 40 years, we decided to continue the journey.
A few annoying moments related to the return of the car:
- parking in an overloaded parking lot of a service station, concentrating not to touch other cars, when reversing, the rear bumper touched the open door of the box, slightly damaging the paintwork of the previously battered bumper. For this, the owner of the rental, Artem, demanded $ 60. Although when receiving the car, given its far from fresh condition, the woman who issued the car said that there would be no complaints about scuffs, the main thing was that there were no dents. At the time of the incident analysis, at my mention of this, the woman was "blown away" from the site. Photos of the violation of the LC coating of the rear bumper after hitting the door of the box are also posted (the place of damage is wiped by hand).
- because in the first two days it was not planned to use the car, when it was received at 11:31 on 10/22/2023, it was agreed that the car would be returned on 10/31/2023 in the interval between 14:00 - 15:00 without charging additional payment (otherwise payment could be made immediately during the same time when receiving the car), which was marked on a copy of the lessor's contract. When returning the car, the woman refused the agreement in a telephone conversation with the rental owner, and said that I only informed about the late return. As a result, 50 Belarusian rubles were still withheld from the pledge.
Conclusions for yourself:
- when agreeing to rent a car in advance, require a standard lease agreement from the landlord to familiarize himself with the specification of the car's configuration (in my case, there was no first aid kit and an emergency stop sign, and of course a fire extinguisher!). Familiarization with it upon receipt in a hurry is impractical (there are many clauses in the contract about the responsibility of the tenant, but there are practically no clauses about the responsibility of the landlord, or they are veiled in such a way that they remove responsibility from him. For example, you can get a car to replace a faulty one only if it is available ...)
. It is also advisable to request a photo of the current state of the car, and not take into account those posted on the site (an annoying puncture with optics could have been avoided if I had assessed its condition in advance).
- when receiving a car, carefully document its condition, and record all oral agreements in writing.
- try to rent a car with full insurance (CASCO), also paying attention to its conditions (there may be hidden deductibles).
- take "fresh" cars.
And yes, on the website the action "Washing for free"
is distributed on condition of renting a car for 4 days or more. They managed to charge 15 Belarusian rubles for a car wash, and this despite the fact that the car was rented for 10 days.
