The following story once happened in this ancient prison... Frank Morris, a repeat offender, was transferred to prison. He had previously escaped from several other prisons. Noticing that the newcomer has a high IQ according to the questionnaire, on the very first day he is called by the head of the prison and warns that it is impossible to escape from his institution. Shortly after the transfer, Morris begins having problems with the criminal Wolfe, who wanted to make Frank his "mistress." At first, Wolfe tried to recruit Morris in the shower, but Morris successfully fights off Wolfe. Then, during a walk, Wolfe tried to kill Morris, but Frank's friend, the imprisoned artist Doc, manages to warn him of the danger. For fighting with Wolfe, Frank ends up in the punishment cell and, after an unfairly harsh punishment, strengthens his intention to escape. After discovering that the wall in the cell near the washbasin is not completely secure, Frank decides to hollow out a passage into the ventilation shaft and then climb out onto the roof of the prison. From there, according to his calculations, you can get beyond the walls of Alcatraz. Frank makes arrangements with the brothers Anglin and Charlie Butts to escape. The Englins are organizing a homemade inflatable raft made of waterproof capes glued together with rubber glue. The guards are being deceived by creating mannequins imitating fugitives sleeping on their bunk. When night falls and it's time to escape, Butts hesitates to escape and remains in prison. Morris and the Anglins escape from prison. The next morning, the warden is furious and tries to find traces of the fugitives, but to no avail. To this day, it is unknown whether the fugitives managed to reach the shore, since no one saw them, either alive or dead.
