I stayed at the Royal Palace Hotel in Almaty and was very pleased. The service was excellent: the staff is polite and always ready to help. The rooms are clean, cozy and well equipped. The breakfast was pleased with a variety of dishes and high quality food. The atmosphere in the hotel is calm and comfortable, ideal for relaxing after a busy day. The location is also convenient, easy access to the main attractions of the city. Overall, a great place to stay in Almaty, I recommend it!

Not in the center (there is nothing to see nearby), but there are very good cafes nearby. Inexpensive, spacious and clean rooms, good breakfasts (5 options to choose from, although not always all options are available), cleaned daily, the staff is polite and unobtrusive. I'm shooting a star for a TV that didn't work in the room (it doesn't matter to me, I watched the news via WiFi), and it wasn't repaired in three days. I recommend it for the unassuming traveler or business traveler.
