I often come to Semey for work and have visited several hotels, including the Semey Hotel. Now about the pros and cons:
From +:
1) Affordable price
2) location right in the city center
3) polite staff
4) cleanliness
5) the presence of wi-fi, although the speed leaves much to be desired. By the way, in almost all the hotels where I have been everywhere, the speed is not very high, so the presence of WiFi can not be set +, but I am kind))
5) there is a free breakfast when booking a room through booking))
Of the cons:
1) I stayed in March, and the room was cool, although they said it was warm. Or maybe I am like that))
2) everywhere, including the corridor, the floors creak, i.e. anyone who walks down the corridor can hear you
3) the renovation in the rooms is very old, in some places there are traces of mold that you are reluctant to pay attention to.
4) the bed is also very creaky, i.e. if a person likes to sleep comfortably, then he does not belong here. I lived in standard rooms and there were such beds everywhere. Maybe they are better in the suites..🤔

Excellent, budget, hotel in the city center.
Convenient location, there are many cafes nearby, a park right in front of the hotel, behind the hotel there is also an interesting park with busts of Lenin and other Soviet figures.

Two advantages of the hotel are the administrator and parking in the courtyard. There is some kind of service station in the courtyard of the hotel, where they worked when they arrived at 22-00 and in the morning
when the masters left. The advantage of parking is that Karaoke works in front of the hotel until about 3-30, and so on all night and until the morning the movement of cars. Maybe the area there is so idle and entertaining, because at 4 a.m., some people were moving along the neighboring streets. I'll leave this question for later.
About the hotel. The hotel was probably built in Soviet times, but there are no signs of cosmetic repairs. There was a guard in the junior suite, he saved me from the stuffiness. But there is no kondey in the standard, and it's hard to imagine how to relax there in the stuffiness before the road. Maybe, as an option, wet the sheet and turn around, but the option is, let's say so to ourselves....
