I dreamed of Cuba and it turned out to be exactly like in my dreams. Friendly staff, wonderful weather, the best ocean, delicious food (papaya and ice cream daily), great cocktails. Take large thermoses with you - they will be useful on the beach. Be sure to take medicines, especially for various disorders - anything can happen with their water. Fumigators and mosquito repellent, cosmetics and chocolates instead of tips. It is better to take sun beds in the morning, there are many of them, but there are few comfortable ones. If you arrive late, they will bring you immediately for a dollar. Stolen towels - watch out or take them from the room, personal is not stolen. The SALT AND PEPPER restaurant is the best, the rest are very low in level. You will not need a mask on the beach, you will see the fish anyway, but for a change you need to go away from the shore. It's already hot in May: protective creams will be very useful, take more. The humidity is huge, it dries only on the balcony, in the sun. What I realized for myself!
Cuba is a wonderful country!
This country is a museum! You need to travel along it, not just lie like a seal.
Bring more cash with you, preferably in euros or dollars, for trips!
The weather is changeable, comfortable pants, socks and a long-sleeve shirt are very useful in windy weather!
You won't starve to death in terms of food, or "hunger is not an aunt"!

We stayed at this hotel with my husband in the middle of April. This was our first time in Cuba. The impression cannot be conveyed in words! We are glad that we stayed at this particular hotel. The territory is large, beautiful, everything is thought out! The room is cozy, comfortable, and clean. The ocean is a separate song! The staff is polite and helpful. In the dining room, the waiters are all attentive. I would especially like to highlight Rossio and Diana Denis. Mercedes, a technician, performed her duties with such dignity that we could not remain indifferent to her))
There is a hidden Jazz Miles bar on the 5th floor (we just didn't find it right away). Dilova the bartender and Mabel the waiter are humorous, open, attentive! By the way, it has the most delicious pina colada cocktail. The on-site bars have everything and in any quantity. The food is mostly normal. The choice is large, for every taste. Fruits, pastries, cheeses, ice cream, etc.Highly recommended

We had a vacation in July 24 with a child of 8 years old. We liked everything. A good four and a beautiful Cube. And first about the good things, then about the rest:
The beach is perfect at the hotel, there are enough sun loungers for everyone, the air conditioning is working, the team is friendly, I liked everything. The room was a sea view with good air conditioning, a view, but a little noisy in the evenings.
Kayaks catamaran for free. The sap board was not enough for complete happiness.
I liked meat from food every day, the omelet is not powdered, but made from real eggs. Ice cream is super!
About the rest:
The food, of course, is shocking at first with its simplicity, but then we really liked it. Every day they took meat, papaya and ice cream. Coffee is better in the Cafeteria. There is nothing to buy in the store to eat. Only rum as a gift (although it is even cheaper at the airport than at the hotel). In general, at first it was tasteless for us, but by the end of the rest it was unrealistically delicious and since there are no flavors, enhancers, excess sugar in the food, we tolerated it perfectly. Without allergies and obesity. A rarity. Cocktails are normal.
There's not much point in going to an a la carte restaurant. It's about the same there.
Unfortunately, the pressure in the soul is not
Russian, but barely. But the shampoo is good, it was washed normally. Animation was too noisy at night, it did not help to fall asleep. We took our own towels for the first evening because we were late for the hotel. The beach is pretty clean, but they don't clean much either. By the evening, there is already a lot of plastic. There is no children's animation, even if they turned on cartoons, they would be given some games.
Late check-out for $15/hour. We took an additional 2 hours. The hair dryer is normal. There are no toothpaste toothbrushes. There are no bathrobes. Take your own if you need to.

I took off the star for not changing the towels and the bed. After 5 or 6 days of staying, I had to go to the reception myself and ask for towels and a bed to be changed, although we were told that this should all be done every two or three days. Otherwise, this hotel is excellent, the food is varied and delicious, drinks, cocktails, coffee, entertainment, and the cleanliness of the territory is a delight. The food and cleanliness in the hotel are a disaster and a complete failure! The staff is not involved in solving any problems at all. Of course, the technician will call you if something is broken (safe or air conditioner), but regarding room replacement, cleaning, etc., they go into a thick fog. Tips are given to everyone and everywhere, but this is also not a guarantee of a clean bed, towels, dishes and cutlery.
Large companies in the "canteen" try to serve promptly, but if you are sitting alone / together, you can not wait for water, unfortunately. The range of food is wide, but it is often inedible. In the photo, my permanent + is a set of suitable food (rice, mussels, meat, if any, fruits). There are constant queues for meat, pasta and ice cream. I saw a cockroach once, crawling along the distribution along the plates with fruits.
A la carte restaurants, of all I recommend international, so that you can eat lobster and normal chicken, and Italian (pepperoni pizza, since the rest is sadness).
There is a cafe by the beach at lunch, there is less traffic and there are no queues.
The coffee bar on the 1st floor (until 16:00) is good, the guys there make very tasty coffee (cappuccino, frappe, etc.).
The bar on the 5th floor is open only in the evenings, delicious drinks are made.
Animation, for whom it is important, is unobtrusive, periodically activities are held by the pool and on the beach (in Spanish and English).
The gym is open until 18:00.
During my stay, the Internet worked normally only in the main building at the reception. Well, somehow sitting in a stuffy (!) lobby for communication is not pleasant, so in the end I already freaked out and bought roaming.
I was on vacation at another hotel (Las Americas), well, there is no such mess and the Internet is flying anywhere on the beach.
With the ocean, the local flora and fauna, everything is fine, you can endure all the inconveniences!

Everything is very simple. The country has been under sanctions since the middle of the last century, so everything is elementary in our view, there is a shortage.
However, to live without disposable glasses, napkins, toothpicks, as well as dairy products and eggs for breakfast, and in principle, delicious food in the usual sense of the word ... within 2 weeks, is not a feat)
Anything can be experienced for the sake of the OCEAN!
The Atlantic Ocean and the beaches of Varadero are worth it, believe me!
Therefore, in my review there will be nothing about the hotel, they are in Cuba +, - the same thing. There is no luxury rest here. And God be with him.

I think that the long search of hotels was not in vain — we really liked it here! Cuba has become a realized dream, which I will repeat exactly and, most likely, in the same hotel.
We were at the end of May for 11 days (tired of sealing). The room had an ocean view, everything was working and fully equipped. I don't know if it was luck (but it doesn't seem to be standard practice), the linen and towels were clean, there were enough sun beds. The mosquito season after the summer rains — we did not find it, although we gained funds.
We took two excursions: to Havana for a day and to the Caribbean Sea with a crocodile farm. Havana is unrealistically beautiful, but we are tired of beggars, and in general, we were very exhausted during the day. A light tour to the Caribbean, without haste. A million beautiful fish, snorkeling and diving.
On food: yes, they were not posh, but they were not hungry. Consider it a dietary diet. Seafood included mussels, small shrimp, the same white fish and crab sticks. There were no disorders. Cocktails with rum haunted us. For those who drink strong, I recommend buying Legendario rum in Havana — sooo soft, pleasant. I didn't know rum could be so really delicious.
Be sure to bring a reusable bottle of the largest possible volume. Water is poured into it at the bar and in the dining room. But bottled water is better — it was obtained from cleaners thanks to tips, chocolates and medicines.
The service was relaxed, we were ready for this, and we ourselves were not too demanding, because the ocean and nature brightened up just all the nuances.

8. Something is flowing somewhere in the room, sink, shower, toilet on snot, small ants are running around the room, there are mosquitoes, take a fumigator, in the evening they eat mercilessly on the street
9. No one speaks Russian (we didn't find it), well, maybe we didn't look well, but in general they understand what you want if you show it with your hands and gestures)

11. Taxis are expensive, but you can ride around Varadero on a double-decker bus, 5 bucks per person for the whole day

We were at the hotel in February 2024. Read the reviews- the hotel is super! But everywhere they write that you don't count on the service in Cuba, the main thing is the ocean! With this attitude, a large company rushed to conquer Cuba! About the hotel: there was no soda for the first 4 days. In general, it is certainly possible to survive this, but what about the vaunted cocktails, I had to drink pure rum and whiskey for 3 days, washed down with diluted zuko powder. It came in for a couple of days, then we rushed to the city to buy Cola. We couldn't get beach towels for three days, they just weren't there. Those who did not have it with them were taken to the beach from the room. But this can also be experienced. What was more difficult was the absence of coffee for several days. Neither in the restaurant, nor in the bars, nor in the coffee shop, which opened only a week after our arrival. Food from the category of "you won't stay hungry." We didn't get into the animation, the coolest thing is a disco on the beach! The beach and the ocean are GREAT! The hotel is great. At the end of 2023, repairs were made, so everything looks fresh and corresponds to the stated 4*. We lived in the main building on the 4th, last floor overlooking the ocean (otherwise, given the width of the Varadero spit, rooms on the water on both sides are obtained, from one to the ocean, from the other to the bay. The beach and the ocean are simply divine. When choosing a hotel, we read a lot of reviews, the negative ones were mainly about the cuisine. Yes, in Cuba, dishes are not particularly familiar to Russians, especially children. But as an adult man, I liked everything, I ate mostly chicken and meat, the dishes of which are no different from Russian ones. Sweets are like in Egypt, that is, about nothing, but they are not interesting to me. The alyakart restaurants of this hotel serve essentially the same thing as in the dining room, it's just that the serving is beautiful. In general, everything was fine and there are no complaints about the hotel.

We had a rest together from 03/12/2024 to 03/23/2024, we are active and positive. After reading the reviews, we were preparing for horror :)
We arrived around 18, checked in quickly. We didn't give anything, but others brought all sorts of gifts. Bottom line: we were all settled in the same building, only different floors (and those that were presented - on the ground floor :).
Room 1183 is on the first floor (in fact, as the second) in the main building, but in the distance (the penultimate room). It is quite spacious, with a balcony, partially overlooking the pool, but mainly on the building where the a la carte Wok is located. I turned out to have two beds, but it didn't matter for us, we connected them and got a huge bed. The mattress is comfortable, not too soft. The pillows are long, covering the entire width of the mattress. The room is clean, cozy, it can be seen that it has been renovated. There is a safe, refrigerator, TV, ironing board, iron, hair dryer, umbrella. We immediately turned off the refrigerator because it was noisy. The sockets are universal, suitable for our devices. There was only one large towel, but it didn't matter, in the morning they left a note to change the pillowcases and give another towel. In the end, everything was done. The cleaning was without complaints, there were no problems. The water was leaking out of the shower, but not critically, there was a towel on the floor. They always left three 0.5 bottles of water. There are two chairs and a table on the balcony. The only thing is that the hood in the toilet works around the clock, there is noise from it. Noise is usually critical for me, but I slept like a log the whole vacation :)
Meal. It all started out pretty well: fish for lunch and dinner, pancake omelet, eggs for breakfast. Decided: Oh, how lucky we are! But after 2 days the eggs ran out, and a day later the fish. Two days later, the chicken was gone, and only pork remained... On the second day (after reading the reviews that burgers and hot dogs are normal) we went to a snack bar. But we were told that "know brad". The next day, when asked when he would appear, they said they did not know. We did not manage to try burgers in 11 days, but others did not give up: they took cutlets from the snack, bread from the communal kitchen and made burgers themselves :). The fish appeared the day before departure, and the omelet on the day. There are few dishes, but you can survive. Sandwiches were made for breakfast - bread and ham with grated cheese, sometimes with lettuce leaves. And it was like that every day. We put more pieces of ham, cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers on top :). For those who do not eat bread, it is problematic for them. Porridge is always rice only. The milk doesn't taste very good. The fruits were always the same: pineapples, papaya and guava. At first, the pineapples were wooden, not ripe, and the papaya, on the contrary, was overripe, but on the third day everything returned to normal. I liked the ice cream (it's for lunch and dinner). We don't eat sweets, so I won't say, but the choice is not great visually. There were always tomatoes and cucumbers, tomatoes were green for a few days, but then they ripened. Many people like potato and banana chips. There was always a queue for freshly cooked meat, but not much. The service is mostly slow, you can't wait for spoons and napkins, as well as drinks. At lunch in Fink, the menu almost completely repeated the kitchen, but somehow there were fewer people there, we liked to have lunch there. The coffee is terrible for breakfast, but the coffee bar is normal. Bars: lobby, beach, by the pool and on the 5th floor of the main building (elevator at the reception) and a coffee bar. Cocktails will go, but there were not always lemonades available (especially in the lobby for some reason). Almost everyone goes with thermal mugs - it's really very convenient. We liked to sit on the 5th floor in the evening, but even though it says that the bar is open until 00:00, it was closed at 22:30. As a result, they did not go hungry, and there was no overeating either.
A la carte. Recording is carried out from 9:00 to 15:00 in front of the reception, walking down the corridor, on the left there is a glass door. But if you come by 12, the girl may not be there, often it's empty, everyone signs up in the morning, there's already a queue at 9. The entry for the week opens on Sunday. But there are enough places, we quietly signed up for Saturday and Sunday on Saturday, the time was just set at 20:30. We arrived in advance, at about 20:10 - we were immediately seated, there were a lot of empty tables. We went to Wok and La Finka. There was no excitement, but they didn't go hungry either (going to the main store for ice cream doesn't count :). The menu can be viewed by the code. Surprisingly, the menu changes, so you can go several times. We were served very quickly, although others whom we met said that they carried everything for a very long time...
Territory. A green, well-maintained small area. Bushes with flowers, palm trees. It's clean, there's no garbage anywhere, it's nice to walk. There are two pools near the main building and one rectangular pool a little further away. The pools are not deep, but the one near the bar is quite shallow. The water is warm in all of them. Wi-Fi catches well throughout the territory, but it constantly crashes, you do not need to enter data again, but you need to go to the start page - it connects itself. The speed is excellent, they called on video, sent files, there were no problems.
Beach. Clean spacious sandy beach. We read that there are no seats by 8 a.m. I do not know what the problem is, maybe people have stopped taking up sun beds, but even at 11 a.m. there are places under umbrellas! Several times during these days they passed by a tractor for purification. The coastline is wide in our hotel. The ocean is divinely beautiful! Crystal clear, there were no algae. We walked on the water in both directions. If you look at the ocean and go to the right, you can walk to the rocks (20-25 minutes). The neighboring hotels in this part of the beach are much dirtier, there is a strip of algae in the water at sunset, algae on the beach. If you go to the left, the beach is also clean, but the beach strip feels a little thinner, and the Melia International hotel has practically no sand lines without sun beds, an umbrella on an umbrella, a lot of people. In our opinion, our hotel has an ideal beach! The sunbeds, of course, are not new and some are sagging, but we do not like to lie down, but for some it will be a minus. Many people had trouble with beach towels, but we did not use them - on the advice from the chat we took microfiber towels with us, we did not lose! Then we took them on excursions with us, they take up little space - great.
Entertainments. Unobtrusive animation, but they try. At 11 a.m., volleyball on the beach, then gymnastics, then dancing. Gymnastics can also be performed in the ocean. Then, in the afternoon, various activities are held near the pool (competitions, darts, water polo, dancing). In the evening, the program at the theater at 21:30, every week, as we understood, is repeated. There are dance shows, as well as contests. Everything is conducted in English/Spanish. There is table tennis, a small golf course and two tennis courts (but one does not have a net). For table tennis, everything is always on the table, but golf and lawn tennis need to be taken at the counter, where beach towels are. We played table tennis every day (it is located in the theater, under the roof, so it's not too hot), but we wanted to play big tennis not in the heat, we went at 16:30, but they didn't give us - they said they were already closing, they work until 17, come tomorrow. That is, you need to play in the heat. But we were lucky, it was cloudy on the penultimate day and we managed to play. It's all free. At 23:00, the hotel is quiet.
Location. We chose a hotel based on the price/quality / proximity to life ratio. About 15-20 minutes on foot from the hotel to the right and the city begins: cafes, bars, shops. We were surprised that there are few people on the streets, some places are completely empty, and the further you go, the fewer tourists and more local people. Almost anywhere you can turn to the beach to the ocean. If you get tired, taxis, retro taxis, mini taxis, horse carts and tourist double-decker buses are constantly driving along the main street.
In general, the hotel is not bad, there are disadvantages, it pulls for 4. We were satisfied with our stay!

I take off a star for food, for breakfast an omelet made of egg powder, there were no scrambled eggs or boiled eggs for two weeks, everything was scarce for lunch and dinner, once there was a pig on a spit, they do not know how to make pasta, cold, fried / steamed pumpkin, rutabaga, yuki, bananas in different variations. Fig. Delicious soup.
The rooms are new, clean, the beds are comfortable, everything works in the bathroom. The problem with beach towels is that they need to be guarded and the one who issues them extorts money for them - this is not acceptable for a beach hotel. The bars are good. The territory is well maintained. I would especially like to mention the animators - they come up with something all day and the restaurant on the beach - the service is excellent, everyone tries, they are very attentive, and the food there is better. The beach is large, clean, the approach is very gentle, the sand is white, there were enough sun beds for everyone.

We had a vacation with my wife! Overall, I liked everything! There are some little things that I didn't like, burnt-out light bulbs in the room and dead batteries in the TV remote control. It is not clear why tea and drinks were not made freely available. Food for 2, not a large selection and intermittently. There is nothing for children to do, nothing is provided for them. The room is more or less normal, but an extra bed is something. It is impossible to sleep on it. It's tough with fluctuations. You will have to sleep in three on the same bed. Only the ocean saves, but for 4-5 days even it does not save.

Someone wrote in the reviews that there was a problem with eggs, but they were in abundance, boiled, fried, omelet-this is on a regular basis, that upon arrival home I stopped cooking them, so tired of a week. They could not take towels for the beach, they were constantly in short supply. The pools are shallow. The concierge is always with an outstretched hand. Plus, I can say that this is a great coffee in the coffee shop on the ground floor. And the girls there were always friendly.

The very concept of the hotel is interesting. The buildings are well constructed. But they built it and forgot it. There are small shoals everywhere. Out of 12 days, we have not changed towels and bed linen once. The cleaning staff cleans the rooms well only for tips. It was only the third time that we had a leak in the bathroom sink pipe fixed. Linen and towels with stains. It seems to me that there is no bleach in the whole country. The food in the dining room is monotonous. The sanctions and, perhaps, the laziness of the Cubans themselves are affecting. The guide told us that the food in threes, fours and fives is about equally bad. Do not expect a variety of food, as in other resorts. Powdered milk. Eggs and bread are not every day. Even a simple white fish was only a couple of days old. The staff of the canteen (waiters in particular) do not like to run, they like to chat on the sidelines. They can be waited for a very long time. The beach is not very clean, cigarette butts, bottle caps, cups are lying around. I've never seen anyone clean the beach in front of us. Animators are working. They speak English and French. There are practically no Russian-speaking employees, I have not met them. But the ocean brightened everything up. We did not regret visiting Cuba, although I expected more from Havana. But that's another story.
