Fountain of Sultan Akhmet III (in Turkish, III. Ahmet Çeşmesi) is one of the most famous and beautiful historical fountains in Istanbul, a vivid example of the Ottoman Baroque. Here are its main characteristics: 1. Location: It is located in the heart of the historic Sultanahmet district, right in front of the Imperial Gates of Topkapi Palace, close to St. Sophia Cathedral and the Blue Mosque. This makes it one of the most photographed objects in the city. 2. Date of construction: The fountain was built in 1728 by order of Sultan Ahmet III, during the period known as the "Age of Tulips" (Lale Devri) — a time of relative peace and flourishing of arts and culture in the Ottoman Empire. 3. Architectural style: This monumental structure represents the pinnacle of the Ottoman Baroque with Rococo elements. It has a massive square shape with strongly sloping corners, which gives it a multifaceted appearance. It is crowned with five small lead domes — one large in the center and four smaller ones. 4. Decoration: The fountain is richly decorated with stone carvings, including floral motifs (tulips, roses, carnations, fruits and leaves), as well as elegant calligraphic inscriptions. These inscriptions are poems glorifying water, sultan and fountain, the author of which was the poet Seyyed Huseyin Wehbi. 5. Purpose: The fountain originally served as a public water source for townspeople and travelers. In the Ottoman tradition, the construction of fountains was an important act of charity and a demonstration of the generosity of the sultan. 6. Unique features: Besides the magnificent carvings and calligraphy, the fountain was also known for its small "bird houses" (kuş evleri), which were attached to the corners of the building, providing shelter for birds. Today, Sultan Akhmet III Fountain is not only an important historical monument, but also a picturesque part of the Sultanahmet panorama, attracting thousands of tourists with its beauty and grace.

As the fountain does not function, it is already a monument of architecture and history, the unusual ornaments on the walls are all different. It looks like Rococo style.
