It looks like a big park, not a botanical garden. It only cointains a little number of kinds of trees and plants, and it doesn't contain any exotic plants or trees. But it's good for walking

I was definitely satisfied with this place! The botanical garden looks pretty cozy after the reconstruction/modernization in 2019-2020.

Great during all seasons. Best to have buts to feed squirrels and some fish food to fish koi fish.

I was pleased to visit the botanical garden, near the Al-Farabi University. Payment via cash registers and by code is convenient. The park has many alleys of different tree species, many birds, and squirrels. There are many recreation areas, signs everywhere. There are several entrances and exits to the garden, workshops with children, an exhibition of handicrafts made from natural materials, and a library of books on botany are held in the west. I didn't have enough plant collections, there is no zone of wild cereals of Kazakhstan, wild flowers of the steppes. It is a pity that Kazakhstan lags behind the ability to demonstrate the plants of its natural areas, the landscape diversity is the richest: steppe, mountains, desert. It is not represented in the Botanical Gardens of Almaty and Astana, which is very disappointing.

Convenient parking on the Al-Farabi side.
It is clear that the garden is being watched, many thanks for the work of the staff. It is very interesting to walk through the various zones. The Japanese garden is neat and pleasant to the eye.
In the North American zone, the feeling of being transported to a real forest, the smells, the coolness, the birds, is just wonderful.
We have been there several times this year, we are really looking forward to the warm season next year, we will definitely come. A very good place to walk on a weekend or on a weekday evening.

The Botanical Garden.....It's just incredible beauty, silence, and only the sounds of nature, mixed grasses and multicolored colors!
Incredibly beautiful and graceful swans, lots of fish, pheasants, squirrels, magnificent views of the mountains, you relax your soul so much that after a few more days the mood is peaceful)
The ticket for adults is 900 tenge, there are discounts for pensioners and large families...
Thank you, dear people, who take care of this beauty, plant, care for, and grow!!! This is simply the best corner of nature in the city center.

I love this place very beautifully, there is a large collection of plants and flowers and trees, each area of the park has its own name and description, all this goes in combination with beautiful decorations, recreation areas and stunning views. A pond with fish and a couple of swans is a place of relaxation. Lots of locations for beautiful photos. You can see pheasants calmly walking around the garden and squirrels.

There are a lot of magnolias and lilacs in spring. The panorama of the park clearly shows the mountains.
Swans live in the pond, and wild pheasants live on the territory. Clean and tidy
I personally didn't have enough perennial flowers. But the variety of trees and shrubs is huge. It is better to check the schedule using the park's social media accounts. It varies according to the seasons and does not always coincide with Yandex.
There is no luggage storage.

It is convenient to have two entrances (from Al Farabi and from Temiryazev). There are many comments about the "exposition" itself:
1. ~40% of trees/bushes have plaques. There are several bushes of different species nearby - it is unclear which one the single sign refers to.
2. We really need a "map of flowers/ flowering shrubs" on the website. I think it would increase the influx of visitors. Galanthus (snowdrops) are starting to bloom right now. Who will know about this?
3. When will the greenhouse be repaired?
4. Several experimental sites and schools behind the fence. I would like to visit some of them, even with a guided tour.

I was there this fall. There are many different beautiful and well-groomed flowers and plants at the entrance. The territory is large, but there are many territories enclosed by a grid. Very beautiful, large in area, represented by a variety of flora, the botanical garden of Almaty is perfect for both family holidays and organized excursions for schoolchildren and students. There are wide alleys with beautiful flower beds and quiet paths where you can find a large number of tame squirrels and pheasants.

A wonderful park.
I didn't understand it at first, but after going through all the zones, it turned out to be very large and interesting.
I think the Japanese garden is modest, I wanted more decorations, but it's still a botanical garden.
There are ponds with red carp, there are ponds with swans.
Squirrels are almost tame.
I didn't see any devices selling food.
Maybe I looked it over, or maybe they need to be installed.
Gorgeous pine forest, blackthorn and much more.
Go for a walk, explore every corner.

A wonderful huge garden, very well maintained in the central part, a magnificent rose garden, rows of juniper trees are impressive. There are ponds with fish, lotuses of different colors, benches for relaxation.
If you move away from the main alley, you will go deeper into an almost wild park with narrow paths, small and large lawns overgrown with grass or mowed down, where you can walk or relax.
It is not very clear the purpose of the fenced-off areas, closed with a lock. I saw through the fence that interesting, unusual plants grow, I would like to see, but alas...

It is extremely huge, there is a lot of greenery, as every good park should be. There are excellent shops, the staff cleans there almost around the clock. Also, I just really liked the place near the building with the kalona with the architecture of antiquity. And the area of the park with water attracted my unusual attention (well, you can find a bridge there). In addition, there are maps in various parts of the park, which gives orientation in this large park. For a walk with the whole family, especially in summer it is generally super.

A charming place. I regularly go to the Botanical Garden with my grandchildren, one of the most favorite places in Almaty. Thanks to the organizers and staff of the garden, everything is wonderful, culturally, clean, polite, everything is done with love and care. The population of squirrels, pets of children and adults, is increasing year by year, and it is clear that they are very comfortable there.

The Botanical Garden is beyond praise. There are a lot of innovations that you may not have met yet. Well-groomed paths along which it is pleasant to walk between tall pines and ancient oaks. Beautiful cypresses and trimmed shrubs are pleasing to the eye. I never thought that there were so many varieties of lilac in the world. My eyes are falling out from such beauty. At the entrance to the pond, tender nymphaeum sprouts. Everyone can find their own cozy corner where you can just relax, because it is impossible to cover everything, the park is so huge in size.
