I have never seen a place in the world that has left such a permanent mark on aesthetics, neither Italy , nor France, Germany, America, this is the last country anyway, fake heroes with a dirty past, a state founded from thieves who don't even have a history

A must-visit place when traveling to Istanbul, a very convenient audio guide. The best ones should be planned for the first half of the day, as much earlier, since there are a lot of people from lunch and queues are possible when visiting museums and exhibitions. I recommend it, get a good impression.

By walking through the Topkapi Palace, I fulfilled my wife's long-standing dream. The history of the Ottoman Empire is wide and diverse. During the reign of the empire, I have accumulated many interesting events and stories, as well as historical relics. And the interest in all this, of course, gave birth to the Magnificent Century series. Thanks to the creators and actors of this wonderful series

Walk only with a good guide. Come to the opening. Children under 13 years old receive a 90% discount on admission, documents are requested, photos are available. Now many pavilions in the garden are open, the tour is becoming more extensive.

It is useful for general development. Like any other locations with an ancient history. Only the entrance to the palace costs an inadequate 1,700 rubles per person. (for local 170) If you want a guide, then prepare another $ 40-50 per person. The tour itself is mediocre. I think a free audio guide that you can take for free after buying a ticket will solve the problem not much worse. Near the palace there is a pleasant Gulhane Park with alleys, benches, where large green parrots live. You can relax there. Admission to the park is free.

It's a good big museum, which you have to come to for the opening at 9, because it will be released only by the closing at 17. There are audio guides with collateral, places where you can sit down and relax, toilets.
However, the big disadvantage is the cost of 1,500 lira (≈50$ at the time of writing) for tourists, when the entrance for locals is 250. The evidence of an aggressive pricing policy towards tourists is sad, although it is not something surprising.

The price for tourists is overstated by as much as 6(!!!!) the entrance fee is 1500 rubles (about $ 50), while for locals it is only 250 rubles. I have never seen such lawlessness anywhere.
Disgusting and boorish attitude of the staff.
After we passed the ticket turnstiles, one of the three of us lost the ticket. After that, one person was simply not allowed into the harem, although he was included in the price on this ticket. I don't see the logic in this, because we passed the turnstile with a ticket. Obviously, we couldn't go in without paying. The frustration of spending a fairly large amount and such a rude attitude of the staff.
I can notice the palace itself and the territory are beautiful, but the organization, price and attitude of tourists are disgusting. I'm unlikely to go a second time or recommend it to someone.

I was not impressed, there were huge queues for tickets (for such a price, we could put umbrellas so that it would not be so hot to wait). The palace itself is not impressed, it is quite monotonous. At the end there is only a beautiful fountain and walls. It's not worth it for such a price (1,500 lire per person).

One of the points of the mandatory program in Istanbul. The impressions are good. A gorgeous palace.
We got an idea of the harem system, which is very different from the generally accepted one.
And of course it is touching that ticket prices for foreigners are, to put it mildly, "horse-like".

We walked around the palace for almost 4.5 hours at an average pace. And we didn't even watch a little bit.
I don't know why they write that the audio guide should be listened to with headphones. We listened perfectly well without them. Several locations were not translated into Russian, but it's not scary. Overall, we liked the audio guide.
And I still don't know why everyone writes to come to the opening itself, we arrived at 12:00, there were no queues (end of November).
Of the cons, the toilets were only in the beginning😅

The price is 1500 liras, the visit is worth it. It is better to lay the whole day for a full examination. Do not forget that Tuesday is a day off. The audio guide in Russian is almost useless (there are numbers in the application, but they are not always indicated in the exhibits and vice versa, the exhibits indicate that there is an audio guide, but there is no audio guide), a passport or 1000 bachs is needed for collateral. They didn't regret it.

Being a fan of the TV series "Magnificent Century", I naturally dreamed of getting into the Top Cape Palace. And my dream came true)
The palace is luxurious and beautiful! Part of the premises is reserved for museum exhibits of objects belonging to the Ottoman dynasty.
The garden is beautiful and well maintained. The balconies offer magnificent views of the Bosphorus.
The interior of the palace is a work of art! It is necessary to take at least 3 hours for the examination.
The only thing is that the crowds of tourists scurrying back and forth prevented them from completely immersing themselves in the atmosphere and imagining how they lived in the palace under Suleiman the Magnificent)).

The materialized world of Turkish TV series! The beauty, the modest outlines of the owners' past wealth. You can easily imagine the life raging in the palace. The later you arrive over the years, the more rooms are closed for restoration. Considering the ticket price of 650 lira, huge crowds of tourists, queues and poor information of the audio guide (to pay Guides for 50 euros), I don't want to come here in any way. Although, as long as there is demand, prices will rise and more and more space will be closed from people. For 7 years, the chambers of Hurrem Sultan have never been opened.
In 2016, much more was opened (although the chambers of Hurrem Sultan are always under restoration, it is impossible to get in) . The Sultan and Walide's chambers were now closed. Somehow the question arises, what are we paying for? Look outside the building and several halls, while the most interesting is closed from fans of the Magnificent Century.
The territory of 1400 is impressive, you can walk along the Golden Path, freezing inside if you fly in the cool season. I've been in winter and spring and summer and autumn)
One cafe for thousands of people. Yes, you can look at the Bosphorus from there. But it is better to buy a boat trip. Just my thoughts.
P.S. In front of the kitchen area, where there are huge stoves, there is an almost black smooth tree that is more than 500 years old. They walk past him without noticing. I stopped and thought about how many centuries had passed, people were born and died, but it still stands.
When you watch TV shows, everything is expensive, rich)
When you find yourself in Topkapi Palace, you notice thick bars on every window. The yard for walking is deaf and closed. And you immediately understand, in captivity. Approximately 1,200 women lived in the harem permanently. And only a few were allowed to walk, the rest worked all day, waiting for the "finest hour", or when they would get married. There is a lot to think about. There is a fairy tale on the screen, in real life all the romance is replaced by not the best echo of those times. Survival and the constant struggle to save lives.

The first thing that catches your eye... This is the ticket price🎫 They may have confused Switzerland and Turkey in this particular place. The palace itself certainly deserves attention and admiration. In some places, if you dream up, you can get great pleasure from visiting. A place for culture, history, photo and video shooting. But there is always a consumer attitude and a huge number of people. Such places always leave an ambivalent and ambiguous opinion. It is worth visiting once in a lifetime, and the second time... You can buy for money, from the ticket price 🎫, a sea flight to Antalya✈
