I have great respect for the "Afghans". I have a lot of "Afghan" friends. But I consider the monument to be completely unsuccessful. The figure of a fighter struck down by a bullet, with a pained face, partly resembles an object of the collection, impaled on a pin. Couldn't they have come up with anything more magnificent? And it is not suffering that should be perpetuated, but steadfastness and loyalty to duty. After all, no one would have thought of portraying the hero of the Great Patriotic War in this way. If sometime in Donetsk they decide to install a real majestic Monument on the "Afghan theme", I will be glad.
