I recently visited the Volkhovstroy-1 railway station in the city of Volkhov. My impressions were mixed.
From the outside, the station building looks very attractive, especially considering its age — it was built at the beginning of the XX century. Inside, I was a little disappointed. Despite the fact that the station is one of the most beautiful in the Leningrad region, the condition of the premises leaves much to be desired.
I would especially like to mention the work of the staff. The staff were polite and helpful, but their numbers were clearly insufficient for such a large train station. Queues at ticket offices and ticket purchase terminals can be very long.
I also drew attention to the convenience of the station's location. It is located in the city center, which makes it easily accessible for residents and visitors of Volkhov. However, parking near the station leaves much to be desired — it is small and inconvenient.
In general, the Volkhovstroy-1 railway station is a historic building with a beautiful facade, but it requires repair and modernization. I hope that the situation will change for the better in the future.
