Monument to the Heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812. During the Patriotic War of 1812, Belynichi was liberated from the French by Denis Davydov's partisans. For the liberation of Belynich, D. Davydov himself was awarded the Order of St. George, IV degree. From the memoirs of Lieutenant Colonel Denis Davydov: The town of Belynichi, owned by Prince Xavier Oginsky, lies on the elevated shore of the Drutsa River, which flows from north to south. On the way from Shklov, the field is flat and vast. Beyond the village there is one bridge over the Drutsa, which is quite long because its shores are swampy. Beyond the bridge, on the way to the town of Esmonami, there are frequent hills covered with forest; from Esmonami to Berezina, the forest is almost continuous.... In this case, we took over the store and state capital in Belynichi. In the first, four hundred quarters of rye, forty quarters of wheat, two hundred quarters of buckwheat and fifty quarters of hemp were found, and in the last, two hundred and ninety sick people and fifteen doctors were taken. One lieutenant colonel, four captains and one hundred and ninety-two privates, the entire convoy and one hundred and eighty guns were taken.
