A very good option to spend the night in Almaty. The upper floors offer beautiful views of the city and the mountains. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable enough. Though time-worn. The bathroom is decent. The bathroom accessories are clean, and there is a pair of shampoo/shower gel in the set. There is a closet with 2 hangers. There is an iron (on request). The Internet is not very fast and sometimes disappears in the breakfast room. The breakfasts themselves do not shine with variety and lose out in the choice of some online Moscow Safmar *** Buckwheat, sausages, fried eggs, sliced vegetables, tea, coffee, a little baking. However, there are no complaints about the taste of the dishes - everything is quite tasty. It's definitely not worse than in a Cafe/ Cozy. As a result, for relatively little money you get a completely acceptable service.

The hotel is saved by its excellent position, the room and the view from it. The pool, gym and breakfasts leave much to be desired.
Regarding breakfast: there is no variety, no nameplates, no juices except compote. There doesn't seem to be any staff at all, and the tables stay dirty for a long time. During the 10 days of our stay, we went to breakfast only 2 times.
The gym equipment looks like it's from a Soviet-era school.
It is impossible to lower the temperature in the room, the windows do not open, and sleeping at 32 degrees is uncomfortable.
The reception staff is not particularly friendly. When we checked out, all we heard was "it's okay, goodbye."
There is no chance that I will return to this hotel again.

A great place to relax. The mountains are relatively not far away, you can go skiing and snowboarding. The hotel is clean, good service, very polite and qualified staff. I really liked the pool and sauna. I took off the star for breakfast. We lived for 2 weeks, in the first week there was just a great breakfast with fruits and nuts, there was an excellent, very diverse selection of dishes. In the second week, as the staff found out, the composition of the breakfast changed, only one version of porridge remained, fruits and nuts were removed. There was no baking. Peas, olives and vegetables were removed (almost all vegetables were removed, I saw only tomatoes and cucumbers, and then not every day). If you close your eyes to breakfast, then this is a great place.

A pleasant hotel, the rooms are very clean and tidy. They cleaned my place every day. the room was overlooking the mountains - the beauty of nature is indescribable!
There is a spa (swimming pool and Finnish sauna), massage also seemed to be, but I did not use it.
The water in the pool is clean, the sauna warms up well too.
You can have breakfast from 7 a.m., which is very convenient for those who need to leave early on business. The dishes themselves are quite diverse, there are classic fried eggs, porridge, fish, meat and chicken, a large selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits.
The hotel is located in the upper part of the city, the locals say that the air there is cleaner.

The paranormally high rating for such a hotel on Yandex maps is extremely doubtful.
But let's start in order -
A large building, 10 floors, several facilities at the hotel and even a "spa" - a 10x10m pool, a small sauna and a fitness room from the 90s. Oh, yes, the place where the meal takes place is like in that riddle: without windows, without doors, although wait, there is still an entrance.
A surprisingly large number of guests, despite all the conditions and cost.
The rooms are generally neat and there is nothing superfluous (as well as a kettle). A table, a chair, a bed, a built-in wardrobe and a TV stand. Panoramic floor-to-ceiling glazing and the lack of air conditioning will make your stay in the room as uncomfortable as possible. Thanks for the hot water and the good maid work with the replacement of consumables. But the view, yes, it's great, but it's probably better not to come here next time for it.
Breakfasts are expertly made as poorly as possible, in general, you can not even consider them as a way of eating. The assortment is meager, the quality of execution is two-fold, it's a pain.
We were here for 5 days at work and realized that we had made a big mistake.
As a result, is there a problem with the staff? I don't think so. There is a strong feeling that saving is a way of existence for the administration.
And if the hotel had not claimed four stars in the price of 270k tenge for 6 days, there would have been fewer questions.

They claim 4 stars, but in fact 3 is a stretch. The rooms are clearly tired, occasionally something does not work, then the shower flows, then the toilet falls off. Once I even found a cockroach in the room. The only plus is the area and the price. Not far from the hotel there is Dostyk Plaza (10-15 minutes on foot) and many places to have lunch and dinner.

There are rooms of different categories, it is easy to add hangers, a kettle. The disadvantage is poor ventilation, it is sometimes cool at night, then stuffy, the windows do not open.

I do not recommend the hotel.
Positive: a spacious room (junior suite) and a large comfortable bed.
Minuses: old worn repairs, holes on the wallpaper and curtains, the handrail in the bathroom is falling off, yellowed tile seams, a skewed toilet, the air conditioner is not regulated (at first it was turned off, and then it was +19 all the time, it was very cold. There are only three hangers in the closet, there are no shelves. Things had to be left in a suitcase or on furniture.
The food for breakfast is cold, dirty, dirty tables, no appliances, glasses, only tongs for all food: vegetables, cheeses, bread.
I wouldn't come back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I visit Almaty on business trips. The Shera Hotel is located within walking distance from the office, so I chose it as a standard place to stay. It is also located near the main street of Al-Farabi and the Dostyk Plaza shopping center.
The last time I was in Almaty was from October 17-20, 22, before that (due to the pandemic) in 2019. The once beloved hotel has "passed" very much. Repairs have not been done for a long time, part of the lobby area was sublet, the kitchen was badly damaged.
In the shower, the tiles on the floor were laid with a clear violation of the levels, the water does not drain. To fix the flaw a little, we put one slab on the floor, which acts as a ramp. But it doesn't help for long, the water quickly fills the shower stall. Superior room, 11th floor.
I ordered regular tea with honey and dinner in the room. Dinner is not very fresh. The burger could be "tapped", the bread and filling were so dry. Tea is not saturated (tea is a popular national drink in Kazakhstan), honey seems to be diluted with water. After a day at work, you want to relax with a cup of tea, but such a drink does not have it.
Despite the proximity to the office, I plan to look for another hotel nearby on my next trip. Unfortunately, Shera has deteriorated greatly and you no longer feel such pleasure when you are located in it..

It was November 2023, everything was fine except breakfast.
But in January 2024, something happened. There was no coffee at breakfast - the coffee machine did not work, the air conditioning in the rooms worked only for heating, while the windows did not open. I called the reception for a long time, but they dumped me. I went on foot and asked to open the window - the master was called, who opened it, but in this case the window was no longer closed (on the street -8 at night). Some floors were very smoky, so the room also smelled of smoke all the time. It feels as if they decided to sell the hotel and abandoned the repair and service.

But I noticed one thing, thorough cleaning is not carried out, they returned a couple of days later, water stains remained on the sofa with streaks, and there are a lot of extra hairs on the carpet.

From the sad: extremely unacceptable noise insulation, rattling locks of neighbor's doors, from which it is impossible not to wake up at night. The set of TV channels is poor. There is a coffee machine in the restaurant, but the coffee is disappointing. The tablecloths on the tables in the restaurant are in poor condition. Rooms require more skill and intelligence in terms of maintenance. For example, the thresholds at the junction of tile and carpet are screwed with any screws, the caps of which stick out and risk causing injury when walking around the room on bare feet. You need to ask for a kettle at the bar. At the same time, you need to get a spoon, sugar, tea itself - there is none of this in the room.
I ordered room service a couple of times: there are no complaints, it's fast and delicious.
Overall a good 3 star hotel with excellent location and good price. Before the pandemic (until 2020), the hotel was better...

Yes, yes, I am a traveler with experience, a genius of the last level, who has lived in luxury luxury hotels in Dubai, where the staff is ready to sweep your every step, and spent the night in hotels in Novosibirsk, where mosquitoes acted as free blood-sucking masseurs. SheraInn has managed to create a unique combination of the "best" of both worlds!
Let's start with the rooms where I expected to immerse myself in comfort and luxury, but instead I felt the smell of dampness, as if I was in an underwater cave. The air conditioner, which was supposed to create an oasis of coolness, turned out to be not only noisy, but also impossible to make it quieter, depriving us of the opportunity to enjoy tranquility. Although this is after calling a technician who came into the room in dirty shoes.
Further, the problems only accumulated: in addition to the dampness, there was a smell of old linen in the room, which did not decorate our stay in any way.
Imagine my amazement when I opened the curtains and saw a construction grid in front of the window, spoiling the view of the mountains. It seemed that the windows had not only not been cleaned for a hundred years, but also served as a source of dust and dirt.
And what was my epiphany when I went to the spa, hoping for relaxation and peace! Instead, I was met by the rudest spa employee, who did not even offer towels, I had to beg for them from him myself.
What about the fitness bar? Unfortunately, there is none, and if you want to replenish your energy reserves after training, you will have to look for inspiration on another continent.
But the most terrible moment was breakfast, where I was greeted by a rotten chicken with an unpleasant smell. My appeal to the head waiter did not bring any apology, only indifference and an explanation that it was a mistake of the novice waiter.
In conclusion, SheraInn deserves the title of the most terrible four-star hotel in the world. Travelers, get ready for an unforgettable experience that you will want to forget like a nightmare, and tell everyone about it so that they know that the pitfalls of hospitality can await them in Almaty!
