A wonderful work by three sculptors - Nikolai Ryzhenkov, Andrey Zaspitsky, Ivan Misko, as well as architect Oleg Trofimchuk. The date of the opening of the new monument to the "petrel of the revolution" instead of the previous one is October 2, 1981. It is difficult to say what caused it. The writer's gaze (real name Alexey Maksimovich Peshkov) is directed towards another monument - Maxim Bogdanovich. Whether the architect did it consciously or not is anyone's guess. It should be noted that Maxim Gorky and Adam Bogdanovich, the father of the Belarusian poet, were married to the Volzhin sisters. The proletarian writer traveled through Minsk only three times, nevertheless he was an honorary member of the Minsk City Council and an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR. The monument to the writer is a favorite place for photo shoots of children and youth in the park.
