The L'hotel du Collectionneur in Paris is a revived Art Deco legend. The story is quite interesting. Renowned designer Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann took part in the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in 1925 in Paris, where he presented his famous pavilion "Hotel du Collectionneur" (for an imaginary collector), which became one of the icons of the emerging Art Deco style. This exhibition helped spread the Art Deco style around the world. The modern hotel as we see it today was opened in 2004, when a group of renowned architects and designers brought to life the images from that exhibition. The architectural concept of the hotel is a tribute to the luxurious transatlantic liners of the 1930s, and its interiors are filled with recreated furniture, using rare materials such as Makassar ebony and rosewood, as well as authentic works of art purchased at auctions. A unique feature of the hotel is its organization around an internal Andalusian patio — a green oasis of 800 m2 with vegetation, surrounded by Art Deco facades, offering guests privacy and silence. The uniqueness and legend come from a rich artistic history embodied in architecture and design, which transport guests to the elegant era of the 1930s.
