Good afternoon, everyone! After going through the archives of the city of Vitebsk and the National Historical Archive of Belarus for a long time, I had to turn to the National Archives of Belarus. I would like to thank the management of the National Archives of Belarus for the selection of personnel. Special thanks are due to the staff of the reading room: Elena Petrovna Lukomskaya, head of the sector, Alina Alexandrovna Dyshlevich, leading archivist, and Leon Vladimirovich Cheredin, archivist. These are highly qualified employees and professionals in their field, who treat the requests of visitors to the reading room with respect, kindness and understanding, and assist in finding the necessary information. I needed data from the 1926 census. It is important to note that a methodological material has been prepared for users, which indicates what information is contained in forms, forms, lists, etc. Photos of document samples are attached. In addition, the staff of the reading room has prepared an "assistant" for users (that's what I called it), using which you can quickly find the fund number, and then the case number. With this kind of material, it's easy and quick to figure out what cases you need to order for viewing. The four funds from the 1926 census that I ordered were digitized, which helped me quickly find the information I needed. Many thanks to Elena Petrovna, Alina Alexandrovna, Leon Vladimirovich for your conscientious work! I propose that the experience of the staff of the reading room of the National Archive of Belarus be distributed to the archives of Belarus, and I ask the above-mentioned staff to be rewarded for their high professionalism and high-quality service to the visitors of the reading room.

The situation that occurred in the archive on December 10, 2024, turned out to be extremely unpleasant. The archive employee refused to visit the reading room and get acquainted with the documents that had already been prepared and were in the reading room. The reason was that I arrived later than the specified day and time and I was not on the list of visitors. An employee of the reading room told me about the time limit, production, and so on. and that I can only be signed up for January 2025. But I just had to work with the documents that I had been waiting for a month. Dear NARB leadership, I ask you to pay attention to the situation. All your requirements are good, but use them more humanely, and treat the person who came to you with respect!
