You probably already know that Gori is Stalin's hometown, so his museum is a special place for the townspeople. The museum has a lot of Socialist realism-style works (of course) and some gifts made to Stalin by both officials and ordinary Soviet citizens. What impressed me the most was the death mask (it is located in a separate, very solemn hall) and Stalin's railway carriage. The latter is interesting because it can be used to understand the life of that time, the life of one of the most powerful leaders. On the one hand, the carriage is really luxurious, with a bedroom, a meeting room, a bathroom with a bathtub (!). But everything is very modest in design. Remembering Stalin's dacha in Sochi, I think it was probably in this "military asceticism", in greenery and wood, that the chic of that era consisted... but, anyway, no matter how each of us relates to the era and personally to Stalin, this is another reason to touch that time and reflect on the past and present. If you decide to visit Uplistsikhe, then you definitely need to visit the museum in Gori (and vice versa). They are located quite close to each other, and they will give a lot of impressions.
