On September 5, 2007, a commemorative sign "Star of the Belarusian Union of Young People" was unveiled on the territory of Komsomolsk Square on the day of the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union. The sign is related to the fact that on August 24, 2007, a star of the sixth magnitude of the constellation Ursa Major was registered in the International Kosmos-Earth Catalog under the name of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union. The memorial sign is a slab in the shape of a dark hemisphere, symbolizing the night sky, on a light base. The plate depicts the constellation Ursa Major and the star "BRSM".
