This is the best hostel in Oskemen. The hostel has an excellent location in the very center of the city, all rooms are family-type, you can stay alone or with your family. The hostel is always clean and cozy inside. Nearby there is a Turkish cafe "Doner" and a Chinese cafe "Lanzhou". The hostel is popular with foreign guests, almost every day foreign tourists from different countries stay here, so there is always an interesting international atmosphere here. During my stay here, I met and talked with a Swiss couple who had been planning their trip to Kazakhstan for a long time, as well as with a female tourist from Guangzhou, who flew to Kazakhstan specifically to visit Katon Karagai. The administrator Sergey is very hospitable and warm to the guests of the hostel, helps them find transport and guest houses in the places they want to visit (for example, Katon Karagai), shares valuable tips regarding visiting tourist attractions of the East Kazakhstan region. My rating is 5 out of 5.

My son and I spent a pleasant and comfortable stay at the hostel. Everything is homely, clean, cozy, compact. All the little things have been stolen. Many thanks for the ability to work with people and efficiency. I ordered from another city, I was consulted remotely, I paid remotely. We drove in quietly at night.

Excellent hostel , I RECOMMEND IT
Clean, cozy, quiet, close to bus stops, banks, historical center, museums, parks, a lot of cafes and restaurants. The owner (Sergey) will explain everything, where and how to get there in short, go, where to buy what, where to rent a car, etc.

The perfect hostel! Clean, cozy, comfortable! Convenient location: all the most interesting things are within walking distance. The owner Sergey is always ready to help, will offer leisure options in the city, will help with advice. There are no problems with food: there is a shop around the corner, a refrigerator in the hostel + fast food. I liked it so much that I didn't want to leave!

Unfortunately, my expectations from the 5 Rooms hostel were not fulfilled. The first thing that catches your eye is the lack of cleanliness. The rooms and common areas have not been properly cleaned, which creates an unpleasant impression.
In addition, the staff was not very friendly and not ready to help with questions. Sometimes you had to wait a long time to get a response to a request or solve a problem.
Another disadvantage is the noise from the neighboring rooms, which interfered with a good rest. The isolation in the hostel clearly leaves much to be desired, and even in the evening it was difficult to fall asleep because of the conversations and music.
In addition, the amenities leave much to be desired: there was often no hot water in the bathroom, and the kitchen was poorly equipped, which made cooking difficult.
In general, my experience of living in the 5-room hostel was negative, and I would not recommend it to others.

Advantages of the hostel: convenient location, good living conditions, affordable price. I quickly got from the railway station to the hostel by public transport. Comfortable bed, clean linen and towels. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and warm up food.
There are almost no disadvantages. I got room 1, the closest to the entrance, toilets, shower, reception desk and kitchen. I would prefer the farthest room so as not to hear the conversations at the reception and kitchen. The first night I couldn't sleep because of an incomprehensible noise, resembling the hum of a transformer. When I went out and asked the reception what kind of noise it was, they explained to me that it was the noise of the hood from the shower. After my question, the noise stopped.

The only plus is a large bed. Minuses:
1. The rooms are very cramped.
2. It's cold in the common area.
3. The most important disadvantage! An inadequate administrator. I stopped by last night. I started changing clothes in the room and a man called me to find out if I had arrived or not. The receptionist flew into the room. When he saw me naked, he started making claims against me. Further... I had an epileptic seizure. He started demanding that I leave immediately. When I tried to explain something, he just threw my things out of the room. Rude, rude, insulting. He tried to throw me out by force. The time was one o'clock in the morning. Where am I going at this time? They didn't pick up the phone in other hostels in the city. I had to call the police. It was only after the police arrived that they managed to "persuade" the administrator to leave me until check-out time. I also want to note that the sheet was initially stained. When I left for the temple in the morning, the administrator began to take off my underwear and accused me that I had stained the sheets. He canceled the booking in the booking office so that I could not leave a review that everyone would see. .

A very cool hostel,7,500 tenge per day for two people,capsule-type rooms like in Japan, but not just in a capsule with a tablet and backlight, but like a capsule of the USSR, the room in it has a bunk bed,a mirror in general I liked it,which is very clean,the administrator is super,in general I recommend it 100%% only his in Uka, as an avid traveler)
