On 29 January, after dinner at the hotel, I developed severe food poisoning with intense vomiting and diarrhoea, fainted in the room, and was taken by ambulance to the emergency department at 2:30 a.m. We have medical reports and urine/stool test results from two hospitals documenting this. When my husband informed a hotel staff member, her response was: “Your wife must not have washed her hands.” This comment was deeply inappropriate and dismissive, especially given the seriousness of a medical emergency. Afterwards, we attempted to handle the situation calmly and constructively, explaining that we did not wish to pursue formal complaints and were hoping for a reasonable resolution. This was oddly interpreted as a “threat,” and we were told, “Do whatever you want.” If conversations are recorded, management should review them to understand how guests in a medical crisis were spoken to. To be fair, other hotel staff were kind and professional. However, the handling of this incident and the attitude of the staff member involved do not meet the standards the hotel claims to uphold. We are posting this review to inform future guests, especially regarding food safety and how serious health issues are not handled. Never eat anything in that hotel.
