The hotel is good. The first coastline. You can see the sea from the balcony. You can watch the sunset in the evening. The entrance to the sea is not very convenient. Large pebbles, it is better to buy special slippers. Convenient location. Between the old and new Gagra. There are many cafes and shops nearby. But...one huge disadvantage is that everyone suffers from some kind of infection. There were 4 of us, and everyone got sick. 100% hit. And it's definitely not from the sea, because we were in October. We haven't bathed yet, but we started to get sick in turn. Moreover, the symptoms are all the same. First the stomach hurts, then vomiting, then fever. Unpleasant, of course. When out of 8 days of vacation, two at least fall out. And they also drain the sewage system into the sea. I don't know if it's Alex or another hotel, but that's for sure. When the sea smells like poop, I don't really want to swim. It's a pity, of course. If it weren't for these disadvantages, we would definitely come back again. Oh, I don't recommend it that way.

We had a family vacation at the hotel during the New Year holidays, in general everything went fine. It's clean, the staff is friendly, the cuisine is varied.
Even during the power outage in the city, the light was on in the hotel, as the autonomous electric generator is working.
Special thanks to the employee of the travel agency Amra 96, who works at the hotel, thank you for a comfortable acquaintance with Abkhazia.
Among the disadvantages are the renovation of the saltwater pool, the drainage of sewage sewage near the hotel directly onto the beach and, accordingly, into the sea, and the imposed New Year's banquet, which we initially did not plan to attend.

We had a rest in the middle of September. I liked the appearance of the hotel very much, the rooms are nice, clean. Cleaning every day, towels were changed regularly. I liked the food in the restaurant and the gorgeous view of the sea. There are sun beds and umbrellas on the beach. But, a stream flows straight through the beach from the sewer, the stench is very unpleasant and of course many people have caught rotavirus, including us. The rest was ruined. In the dining room, in this case, there is a decoction of chamomile, breadcrumbs and porridge on water. We had a wine tour and instead of a welcome glass of homemade wine, they poured us the 3rd part of a glass of some sour stuff. A liter of wine was promised to the room, and a bottle of sour wine was brought again only on the 3rd day and after reminders.

The hotel itself is decent. The staff is polite and helpful. Good location. The room was a 2-room suite with a view of the sea and the local Eiffel Tower. The room is large with a gorgeous view. There are two buildings with two pools on the territory (one with fresh water and the other with sea water). The third building opens in June next year.
A huge disadvantage of the dining room. In general, this is a restaurant, but, unfortunately, the language will not turn to call it that. The food is monotonous, despite the fact that there are vegetables, meat, fish, side dishes, soups and porridges. Very few fruits. We thought we'd come, at least have a little fun. The food is cold. There is a microwave in the hall, but what queues there will be for it ...
the dishes are not washed, there are not enough cups. Two or three days just flew out of vacation because of the rotovirus. And everyone who comes gets sick. The dining room, upon request, gives out crackers if necessary. There is also a rice broth on the "Swedish" line.
Obviously, something needs to be done with the dining room. In addition, clean plates are displayed at the foot level of vacationers in niches. This is a separate song... (
The restaurant in the 1st building hotel is excellent, but this is for an additional fee. But it's very tasty. Thanks to the girls.
I liked the buildings of the hotel and the service themselves. The sea is clear.

I'm staying at the Alex Hotel for the 3rd time.
Among the advantages: the location, the presence of two pools, in case of cold seas out of season. There is a sauna and an indoor pool, you can go to the spa and various treatments (for a fee)
The food is decent, and even if you are poisoned, there is a diet 👌🏽😌 this is generally well done)
During the off-season, they either do not give the room, or forget to give slippers and bathrobes, but at the first request, the maid will give you everything you need.
Of the cons: the rooms are of course already very outdated in terms of entourage, I would like to update this old hackneyed style.
But the presence of a large number of additional advantages and good service brings back regular tourists of Gagra)

A pleasant place! Abkhazia is the country of my Soul. Quick check-in + compliment. The rooms are clean, modern furniture, hair dryer, kettle, cups + saucers are available. 2-3 days and a change of towels and linen. The cleaning is good. Location 1 line. Everything is fine! The rooms are clean and cozy, bed linen and towels were constantly changed. I didn't have to swim in the sea, but there are pools with heated water and it's great. I visited this hotel for the first time in 2018. I liked it so much that I recommended it to all my friends, and I came here again on 2.10.24. There was a sofa in the photo, it turns out that this was a misconception, the photo was simply stretched and the sofa turned out to be a sofa, Marina's manager was asked how the room differs from comfort and standard, they could not answer and could not show either.

We stayed at this hotel in October 2024. This is the fourth time in Abkhazia that there is something to compare with, I liked everything in this hotel (not Turkey, but everything is very decent and on the level). Excellent staff, excellent rooms, delicious food, cleanliness, its own area on the beach with sun beds, a heated pool, which in October became a bonus, a pump room with delicious water, spa treatments.

I visited there on the program *hunger* for 10 days, for the first time. I have not seen such professionalism from Natalia Viktorovna's doctor anywhere. A detailed lecture on what happens to the body in detail by day, what is the meaning of fasting, a huge benefit for the body. When leaving, there is again a lecture on how to get out of starvation and how to change your diet in order to always be young, slim and happy. Daily monitoring (tests, procedures), many pleasant, relaxing, supportive procedures for a weakened body. The day passed quickly and intensely. I will not write about the sea or the hotel. Everything is beautiful, clean, caring. Everyone is smiling, flexible change of procedure hours. There is a great massage therapist, a professional in his field, you leave him and feel like plasticine, flexible and light. You have understood that I advise everyone from the bottom of my heart.

I really liked it. The rooms are clean and cozy, bed linen and towels are five. Everything you need is in the room, which is not available - at the first request, the staff will provide. A buffet breakfast was included. I liked the food - there are no negative consequences, in principle it tastes good. The furniture in the dining room is a little "tired". The heated freshwater pool is crystal clear, we did not swim with sea water - it was cool. We also visited the sauna - not bad, but the water in the pool in the spa complex is just icy, it hurts my bones. We were in March, we were lucky with the weather - the sun, the sea, the mountains - beauty! Very well maintained and beautiful surrounding area of the hotel and the first line. I recommend. But in the tourist season from May to October it is expensive. prices are reasonable in the off-season.

I really liked the hotel! The staff is helpful, the room is cleaned every day.the location is excellent, the sea is 20 meters away.the bus stop is nearby, everything is within walking distance, there are useful shops and cafes around.the hotel organizes excursions for every budget.We took a guided tour of New Athos, Sukhum, and stopped by for three tastings.I was not impressed by the monkey nursery and arboretum, but we had a great walk along the Sukhum embankment.the tour was conducted by an experienced guide.we had a good breakfast, served in the restaurant on the ground floor, buffet, we were satisfied.of the small disadvantages of the hotel, it would not hurt to redecorate the rooms, and replace the carpet. in general, I recommend it!

We had a vacation in July this year with a child.
Of the advantages:
1. Clean, well-groomed territory. 2. excellent room - we lived in the second building with a view of the mountains, the room is clean, good linen, changed every 3 days, has everything you need.
3. The first line, the sea is two steps away, there are sun beds and umbrellas on the beach, clear sea, and not so many people on the beach as in the center of Gagra.
4. 3 Swimming pools, one of them is for children.
5. There are a lot of shops, a pharmacy, cafes around.
6. At the reception, the staff responded very quickly to requests.
Of the cons:
1. Very monotonous food, (salted fish, coffee machine works only in the morning ((very limited selection of meat dishes ) almost the same thing every day, booking a hotel, given the not very small price and 3 meals a day, we expected to eat immeno at the hotel, but it turned out somehow not very well.
2. Rotovirus and poisoning did not bypass both me and the child, so we spent several days in the room instead of relaxing.
On a second visit to Abkhazia, I would choose a different hotel for the second time, but the nature, the sea and especially the sunsets here are simply unforgettable)

A good hotel, there are two swimming pools (with fresh and salt water), three meals a day, very good (buffet) and varied. We were pleased with the nice spacious rooms. However, there is no full-fledged closet for things. I was also disappointed that there was some kind of unpleasant smell that the maids strenuously mask, but it is still felt.

Fresh and clean rooms, excellent SPA and treatments, and outdoor heated pools (one with fresh water, the second with sea water. There is a children's department), the staff is friendly. After the storm in November 2023, the hotel has already restored the embankment, while in the center of Gagra there is devastation in the direction of the market - renovation work is just underway. There are shops and cafes nearby. There were breakfasts on nutrition: porridge is different every day, boiled eggs, omelets, sausage, cheeses, meatballs, pancakes, 1 side dish changed (rice, pasta, buckwheat), salads (broccoli, seaweed, beetroot ...), there is a coffee machine.

Last day at this hotel. I want to write a detailed and honest review about this hotel.
To begin with, the choice was between Europe 3* and Alex. I saw both of these hotels in Tiktok. The tour operator convinced me to take Alex.
I should immediately note that on the day of check-in we had a wedding anniversary, which the hotel was warned about in advance. Apart from the words from the administrator, they did not congratulate us in any way. Although the hotel is surrounded by roses and you could at least decorate the room and write an address greeting.
We arrived in Abkhazia for the 2nd time by car. We all understand about this holiday, but the 4.9 rating at the hotel convinced us to relax and spend the last week at sea, out of three, enjoy and relax in a buzz.
The room stock is not fresh, but everything is quite normal. Clean, neat. The mirror is a little old, the plumbing, the tiles are a little shabby. This happens when the hotel is fully loaded at the end of the season.
Every night there is a very strong smell of sewage.
Poor sound insulation, everything is audible from all sides. The doors slam like in a clinic from every draft.

We had time for dinner on the day of check-in. It's a simple meal, but it seems to have a choice, it's delicious. Two days later, the main choice did not change!!! The pastries are dry, the bread is dry, the wine is diluted and only at lunch! What would you understand the cost of a day for 3 is almost 13 thousand!!! There should always be wine and juices to choose from! This is a 4* hotel!
After 2 days, the food became generally tasteless. Mashed potatoes are water! We've just been hungry for the last 3 days! They told this to the beautiful Lily, who greeted the guests in the dining room. I apologized for everyone. Nothing has changed. We have a spa hotel, we cook without salt!!! The absurdity is complete.
Indeed, the main contingent was from 45 and older, but this is not a sanatorium - this is a hotel!!!!!
It's a very unpleasant impression.
For two cleanings, the plumbing and the bathroom with toilet have never been cleaned. The cleaners do not stop talking in the hallway from 6 a.m., and then from 15 to 17 they chatter in their own language in full voice when vacuuming the corridor. I woke up every day! At 7, garbage collection is under the window. The car hums under the window for 20 minutes. Of course, then there is no sleep.
We didn't go to the pool. They are there.
The playground is tiny, and the kids' club has never heard music or cartoons.
I went to the spa with my husband. It was fast. He's on a coupon, I'm on a fee. In 7 minutes, we made a pearl bath and a hydro massage. I've never had it done so fast before. Everyone back off.
There is no bar on the beach from the hotel with at least free water.
There are paid waters exactly twice as expensive.
The beach is clean, there were enough sunbeds. The guys were watching - well done.
The beach and the sea were wonderful for us in this place and saved us from longing and chagrin for the money spent! Naturally, we will not return to this hotel and will not recommend it to our relatives.

I liked the hotel. We lived in the 2nd building. The room is not large, but it has a balcony. Everything you need is there. Clear. The cleaning is good. 1.5 liter bottle of water every day. Bathrobes, beach towels, which is very convenient.
Pools +26, excellent. The sauna in the spa area is free of charge from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is also a pool +21.
There is almost no territory, but it is convenient that there is an exit to the embankment and immediately the beach.

We were in July 2023. The hotel is generally good. On the seashore. With buffet meals. Wine at lunch. Its own beach with sun beds, respectively, there are not many people relatively. It was annoying that there was a big stone in the water that everyone had to swim around. And the whole family got sick with rotavirus, like many others in the hotel. But in Gagra, many people suffer from rotavirus. So it's probably not the hotel's fault, but the water quality.

The hotel is located on the seashore, in the Novaya Gagra area. I liked everything from the reception desk to the last day of departure. We rested on relaxation, in the morning a delicious buffet breakfast (we were fed in the restaurant, it was out of season), then a sauna, a saltwater pool outside (the water is very comfortable) Exploring the city along the coast, the waterfront. The territory of the hotel is small, but beautiful and well maintained. The staff of the sanatorium is very friendly. Before the trip, I read a lot of negative reviews about rotovirus, but we were spared, and the neighbors lived peacefully. I will say this, wash your hands more often in a foreign country and do not take anything in your mouth, and you will be happy. I recommend the hotel, I remember my vacation with warmth 🫶🌞

A true professional in his field .She will tell you everything, which tests to take, will select individual treatment, caring. Daily monitoring (tests, procedures), many pleasant, relaxing, supportive procedures for a weakened body. The most beautiful nurse in the procedures is Lyudmila Georgievna. The day passes quickly and intensely. Everything is beautiful, clean, caring. Everyone is smiling, flexible change of procedure hours. They do wonderful massages. The maids clean every day, everyone is very polite. There is light in the rooms, everything works. Heated swimming pool.THERE are NO cockroaches. The breakfasts are very tasty. There is a lot of food. The staff is wonderful all over!!!I recommend this hotel to everyone from the bottom of my heart! A wonderful hotel, treatment, food, and special thanks to the staff!!!! Meal. A very small buffet, very small for a 4-star hotel.
Cockroaches are crawling around the bathroom. If you dirty the bed linen, you will have to pay 2000 rubles for it. The territory of the hotel is small, there is a bowling alley, there is a playroom for children where they are engaged. There are 2 swimming pools on site, with fresh and salt water.
You have to pay for all additional services (for mahito, for beer). The hotel has a restaurant with seafood.
There is a hammam (from which one name comes), there is just an ordinary Russian bath.
I would not recommend this hotel.

The location of the hotel is wonderful, but there is probably a sewer nearby, the stench is terrible, and also, if your room opens onto a driveway, then you will find a dog barking in the early morning and late evening. I recommend taking medicines for rotavirus with you, because medicines in Abkhazia are very expensive. On the 2nd day, everyone gets sick, diarrhea and vomiting, high fever, terrible weakness, and in the so-called "restaurant", a typical dining room, you will find rice broth, jelly (they prepared very well), solid savings for the founders, because for 3 days you will definitely not be able to eat anything, and then -a strict diet. But the choice of food is disgusting, not tasty, not varied. Nice hotel, rooms are spacious and clean. The view from the window was on the construction site, which was not very pleasant, but it did not spoil the impression of the hotel!
We stopped by on May 9, got to a festive lunch with field porridge, tinctures. The staff was thematically dressed, which created a festive atmosphere!
The dining room has a non-heated swimming pool, in the second building it is heated but not very large, there are sun beds.
There was a buffet in the dining room, there were fresh fruits, and a coffee machine worked in the morning (but don't expect the coffee to be delicious). Overall, there was a good selection of dishes.
The hotel is located on the 1st coastline, 5 minutes to the sea, if you walk slowly! There are also sun beds on the beach, which is very convenient!

Nice rooms, excellent cleaning staff (they clean and change towels every day), a wonderful spa (thanks to all the girls, I recommend Thai massage and cosmetology). But the buffet was pumped up, the same food, no variety, and the diet table is generally poor people except for broccoli and boiled potatoes, nothing more, the smell of seaweed makes you vomit in 14 days, the fruits are terrible, there are few pastries, fresh cucumbers are cut like logs. In short, you won't starve to death, but in 14 days it's a nightmare, and the girls who clean the tables with faces like in hard labor (dissatisfied faces without emotions).There is a French la mar coffee nearby, there is excellent pizza, mussels and friendly waiters. Very good children's animation. I wouldn't go a second time because of the buffet. The owners need to think about it, since that's the only problem, and the deposit of 3 thousand is also a strange topic, if the ticket costs 320 for three (2 adults and a child of 5 years old), then what kind of deposit is ridiculous. Overall, not a bad hotel. The idea is not bad – spacious rooms, a SPA, warm pools, a mud spa. But the little things that make up the rest spoil the whole impression. There is practically no parking, even taxi drivers do not want to go on a call. The audibility in the rooms is such that it seems the whole hotel lives in one room. The discharge of sewage in the beach area gives a certain extreme and flavor to rest. The tour desk is a separate story, here you will be sold an excursion to non–existent attractions. We were sold an excursion to the trout farm, which is currently abandoned, the entrance is open to everyone, and empty tanks remain from the farm. Well, the cherry on the cake is a cheap divorce for a shortage of towels in the room when leaving the hotel. To carry out this divorce, a deposit is charged upon check-in. I repeat, in general, the hotel is not bad. Just not bad and that's it.

Rotovirus or some kind of intestinal infection - we got sick of all 5 people. on the second day of your stay. everyone is sick. The hotel should be closed and washed in a good way. But I don't know. it will help or not, because maybe it's the runoff that runs everywhere along the coast of Abkhazia. What is in these drains is known only to those who drain something there. By the hotel. We had a suite in a new building. The room is good. That's where the advantages end. The beach is not private, everyone rests on it, only for tourists who do not take money from the hotel. The food in Hemingway is tasteless, monotonous. But at least they keep a table for rotoviruses (also tasteless). For the money we gave, we could have had a much better vacation in Turkey. There is no territory. It's not interesting around either. a street with various creepy kebab-shawarma and small stalls. There is nowhere to walk along the shoreline. It would be possible to tolerate everything except illness. I think it's about the quality of the sea water and just 100% contamination of the hotel.

This is not the first time we have rested. The hotel is generally good, we had a rest in April, all the pools were working, and the breakfasts were much better than in January 2025. I liked the hotel itself externally and the rooms!The territory is top class!
It 's clean , they always clean up !the sea is clean , there are always free sunbeds, towels are given to the beach and changed!

The penultimate time was in May, the same room cost 2500 for two people per day, now 5000, the cold is inadequate, you can't eat anything at breakfast except sausages made of toilet paper and an omelet tasteless. If we compare the May buffet and now, this is the level of a cheap hotel for 1000 per day, in response to a comment from the girl at the reception, she began to be rude and hint that we love discounts and that the room never cost 2500. Like, express your dissatisfaction to other people, not her. I attached photos of the breakfast masterpiece. Honestly, it's better to find a nicer, newer hotel for the same price, and where there will be normal staff, we won't come anymore.

We came to this hotel to celebrate the new year 2024. This is not the first or second time in Abkhazia for the New Year, there is something to compare it with.
The rooms are clean, the staff is very helpful, the girls in the dining room and at the reception are great. Special thanks to them!!!
But the food leaves much to be desired. There is no choice at all, there are no fresh vegetables. Pollock fish with buckwheat is an "excellent" set or burnt liver!) Pickles and carrots in Korean for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tired!!!
Many wrote in the reviews that it is scarce, but you will not stay hungry. I agree with this, but on the 3rd day I already wanted to pack my suitcase and leave for Sochi. Christmas dinner in the photo) and this diet was monotonous all our 8 days. I often had nothing to feed the child.
I am disappointed that we came here and paid more than 100 thousand rubles for two people with a child.

We had a vacation with our family in July-August 2024. I'll just say that the hotel is decent, it's obvious that they are trying. The food is good. A huge plus, the pools. There is nothing to do in the hotel without them. Of course, I was surprised by the river flowing into the sea, from the hotel there are sewage drains. The Alex resort hotel is super! Three meals a day (dry red wine was served at lunch), spa treatments: sauna with swimming pool, pearl bath, salt room for children, consultation with a therapist and cosmetologist (the first procedure is free!) Of the 7 days of rest, we spent 4 days with rotavirus or some kind of intestinal infection. The child vomited in the night, she collected and cleaned what she could, called the maid to change the linen, and this is for a fee, it is so necessary not to respect her clients, so that, knowing in advance that everyone is the first in this hotel to feel bad and take money for it! Medicines in the pharmacy are like a wing from an airplane, even here they earn on someone else's misfortune! Disgusting food, there is food for the sick, but it is also disgusting! There is no beach of its own, and you don't need a beach where the sewage drains - a terribly smelly river flows from the hotel directly into the sea, next to the beach! The only employees I would like to mention are the girl Laura from the spa area, Svetlana from the children's room and our maid, from the 4th floor, unfortunately, I do not know her name. These are the only people who really support their cause! If there was such an opportunity, I would be happy to send all the checking authorities to this hotel, but! This is Abkhazia!
