But...one huge disadvantage is that everyone suffers from some kind of infection. There were 4 of us, and everyone got sick. 100% hit. And it's definitely not from the sea, because we were in October. We haven't bathed yet, but we started to get sick in turn. Moreover, the symptoms are all the same. First the stomach hurts, then vomiting, then fever. Unpleasant, of course. When out of 8 days of vacation, two at least fall out. And they also drain the sewage system into the sea. I don't know if it's Alex or another hotel, but that's for sure. When the sea smells like poop, I don't really want to swim. It's a pity, of course. If it weren't for these disadvantages, we would definitely come back again. Oh, I don't recommend it that way.

We had a rest in the middle of September. I liked the appearance of the hotel very much, the rooms are nice, clean. Cleaning every day, towels were changed regularly. I liked the food in the restaurant and the gorgeous view of the sea. There are sun beds and umbrellas on the beach. But, a stream flows straight through the beach from the sewer, the stench is very unpleasant and of course many people have caught rotavirus, including us. The rest was ruined. In the dining room, in this case, there is a decoction of chamomile, breadcrumbs and porridge on water. We had a wine tour and instead of a welcome glass of homemade wine, they poured us the 3rd part of a glass of some sour stuff. A liter of wine was promised to the room, and a bottle of sour wine was brought again only on the 3rd day and after reminders.

The hotel itself is decent. The staff is polite and helpful. Good location. The room was a 2-room suite with a view of the sea and the local Eiffel Tower. The room is large with a gorgeous view. There are two buildings with two pools on the territory (one with fresh water and the other with sea water). The third building opens in June next year.
A huge disadvantage of the dining room. In general, this is a restaurant, but, unfortunately, the language will not turn to call it that. The food is monotonous, despite the fact that there are vegetables, meat, fish, side dishes, soups and porridges. Very few fruits. We thought we'd come, at least have a little fun. The food is cold. There is a microwave in the hall, but what queues there will be for it ...

I'm staying at the Alex Hotel for the 3rd time.

I really liked it. The rooms are clean and cozy, bed linen and towels are five. Everything you need is in the room, which is not available - at the first request, the staff will provide. The heated freshwater pool is crystal clear, we did not swim with sea water - it was cool. We also visited the sauna - not bad, but the water in the pool in the spa complex is just icy, it hurts my bones. We were in March, we were lucky with the weather - the sun, the sea, the mountains - beauty! Very well maintained and beautiful surrounding area of the hotel and the first line. I recommend. But in the tourist season from May to October it is expensive. prices are reasonable in the off-season.

I really liked the hotel! We had a vacation in July this year with a child.
Of the advantages:

2. Rotovirus and poisoning did not bypass both me and the child, so we spent several days in the room instead of relaxing.
On a second visit to Abkhazia, I would choose a different hotel for the second time, but the nature, the sea and especially the sunsets here are simply unforgettable)

A good hotel, there are two swimming pools (with fresh and salt water), three meals a day, very good (buffet) and varied. We were pleased with the nice spacious rooms. However, there is no full-fledged closet for things. I was also disappointed that there was some kind of unpleasant smell that the maids strenuously mask, but it is still felt.

Last day at this hotel. I want to write a detailed and honest review about this hotel.
To begin with, the choice was between Europe 3* and Alex. I saw both of these hotels in Tiktok. The tour operator convinced me to take Alex.
I should immediately note that on the day of check-in we had a wedding anniversary, which the hotel was warned about in advance. Apart from the words from the administrator, they did not congratulate us in any way. Although the hotel is surrounded by roses and you could at least decorate the room and write an address greeting.
We arrived in Abkhazia for the 2nd time by car. We all understand about this holiday, but the 4.9 rating at the hotel convinced us to relax and spend the last week at sea, out of three, enjoy and relax in a buzz.
The room stock is not fresh, but everything is quite normal. Clean, neat. The mirror is a little old, the plumbing, the tiles are a little shabby. This happens when the hotel is fully loaded at the end of the season.
Every night there is a very strong smell of sewage.
Poor sound insulation, everything is audible from all sides. The doors slam like in a clinic from every draft.
We rested from 9.09-09/15/2024
We had time for dinner on the day of check-in. It's a simple meal, but it seems to have a choice, it's delicious. Two days later, the main choice did not change!!! The pastries are dry, the bread is dry, the wine is diluted and only at lunch! What would you understand the cost of a day for 3 is almost 13 thousand!!! There should always be wine and juices to choose from! This is a 4* hotel!
After 2 days, the food became generally tasteless. Mashed potatoes are water! We've just been hungry for the last 3 days! They told this to the beautiful Lily, who greeted the guests in the dining room. I apologized for everyone. Nothing has changed. We have a spa hotel, we cook without salt!!! The absurdity is complete.
Indeed, the main contingent was from 45 and older, but this is not a sanatorium - this is a hotel!!!!!
It's a very unpleasant impression.
For two cleanings, the plumbing and the bathroom with toilet have never been cleaned. The cleaners do not stop talking in the hallway from 6 a.m., and then from 15 to 17 they chatter in their own language in full voice when vacuuming the corridor. I woke up every day! At 7, garbage collection is under the window. The car hums under the window for 20 minutes. Of course, then there is no sleep.
We didn't go to the pool. They are there.
The playground is tiny, and the kids' club has never heard music or cartoons.
I went to the spa with my husband. It was fast. He's on a coupon, I'm on a fee. In 7 minutes, we made a pearl bath and a hydro massage. I've never had it done so fast before. Everyone back off.
There is no bar on the beach from the hotel with at least free water.
There are paid waters exactly twice as expensive.
The beach is clean, there were enough sunbeds. The guys were watching - well done.
The beach and the sea were wonderful for us in this place and saved us from longing and chagrin for the money spent! Naturally, we will not return to this hotel and will not recommend it to our relatives.

The day passes quickly and intensely. Everything is beautiful, clean, caring. Everyone is smiling, flexible change of procedure hours. They do wonderful massages. The maids clean every day, everyone is very polite. There is light in the rooms, everything works. Heated swimming pool.THERE are NO cockroaches. The breakfasts are very tasty. Meal. A very small buffet, very small for a 4-star hotel.
Cockroaches are crawling around the bathroom. If you dirty the bed linen, you will have to pay 2000 rubles for it. The territory of the hotel is small, there is a bowling alley, there is a playroom for children where they are engaged. There are 2 swimming pools on site, with fresh and salt water.
You have to pay for all additional services (for mahito, for beer). The hotel has a restaurant with seafood.
There is a hammam (from which one name comes), there is just an ordinary Russian bath.
I would not recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel, rooms are spacious and clean. The view from the window was on the construction site, which was not very pleasant, but it did not spoil the impression of the hotel!

But I don't know. it will help or not, because maybe it's the runoff that runs everywhere along the coast of Abkhazia. What is in these drains is known only to those who drain something there. The beach is not private, everyone rests on it, only for tourists who do not take money from the hotel. The food in Hemingway is tasteless, monotonous. But at least they keep a table for rotoviruses (also tasteless). For the money we gave, we could have had a much better vacation in Turkey. There is no territory. It's not interesting around either. a street with various creepy kebab-shawarma and small stalls. There is nowhere to walk along the shoreline. Nice hotel. Friendly staff. The rooms are spacious, all with a balcony, daily cleaning. There is a kettle, glasses, and a corkscrew in the room. Drinking water is brought daily, one 1.5 liter bottle per room. The territory is not large, but everything is neat. I recommend the hotel.

I liked the hotel itself externally and the rooms!The territory is top class!
It 's clean , they always clean up !the sea is clean , there are always free sunbeds, towels are given to the beach and changed!

For me personally, the heat is wild, there is no wind at all, it's humid, it gets dark at 19:00 and it doesn't get any easier outside!

The penultimate time was in May, the same room cost 2500 for two people per day, now 5000, the cold is inadequate, you can't eat anything at breakfast except sausages made of toilet paper and an omelet tasteless. If we compare the May buffet and now, this is the level of a cheap hotel for 1000 per day, in response to a comment from the girl at the reception, she began to be rude and hint that we love discounts and that the room never cost 2500. Like, express your dissatisfaction to other people, not her. I attached photos of the breakfast masterpiece. Honestly, it's better to find a nicer, newer hotel for the same price, and where there will be normal staff, we won't come anymore.

Taking care of the guests' health is cleaning, disinfection, all methods of preventing rotovirus are involved (but a lot depends on the guests themselves, because there is nothing to crack on the street). We came to this hotel to celebrate the new year 2024. This is not the first or second time in Abkhazia for the New Year, there is something to compare it with.
The rooms are clean, the staff is very helpful, the girls in the dining room and at the reception are great. Special thanks to them!!!
But the food leaves much to be desired. There is no choice at all, there are no fresh vegetables. Pollock fish with buckwheat is an "excellent" set or burnt liver!) Pickles and carrots in Korean for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tired!!!
Many wrote in the reviews that it is scarce, but you will not stay hungry. I agree with this, but on the 3rd day I already wanted to pack my suitcase and leave for Sochi. Christmas dinner in the photo) and this diet was monotonous all our 8 days. I often had nothing to feed the child.
I am disappointed that we came here and paid more than 100 thousand rubles for two people with a child.

Of all the hot things, only the Abkhazian solyanka is edible. We tried everything, understood everything and went to places nearby, within walking distance. There are many places where you can eat very tasty and varied food. We have rested in Alex more than once, we will go again, because it is convenient to combine rest with restorative procedures, a comfortable hotel with prompt, friendly staff. Nature is a delight, just forty minutes from the airport in Sochi.

The Alex resort hotel is super! Three meals a day (dry red wine was served at lunch), spa treatments: sauna with swimming pool, pearl bath, salt room for children, consultation with a therapist and cosmetologist (the first procedure is free!) Bowling is free every day! The hotel is on the first line. The sea is gorgeous...and the mountains are even better...they are fascinating....I am happy that I climbed the mountains above the clouds...Abkhazia is a beautiful country

Of the 7 days of rest, we spent 4 days with rotavirus or some kind of intestinal infection. The child vomited in the night, she collected and cleaned what she could, called the maid to change the linen, and this is for a fee, it is so necessary not to respect her clients, so that, knowing in advance that everyone is the first in this hotel to feel bad and take money for it! Medicines in the pharmacy are like a wing from an airplane, even here they earn on someone else's misfortune! Disgusting food, there is food for the sick, but it is also disgusting! There is no beach of its own, and you don't need a beach where the sewage drains - a terribly smelly river flows from the hotel directly into the sea, next to the beach! The only employees I would like to mention are the girl Laura from the spa area, Svetlana from the children's room and our maid, from the 4th floor, unfortunately, I do not know her name. These are the only people who really support their cause! If there was such an opportunity, I would be happy to send all the checking authorities to this hotel, but! This is Abkhazia!

We rested at this hotel in August, the whole family got sick with rotovirus, a stinking stream drains into the sea from the hotel, the food in the dining room is monotonous, there is something delicious, something is not there, even the most ordinary dishes manage to spoil, after they got sick they practically did not go to the dining room, they were afraid to eat anything there, in the pool the water is muddy, garbage floats on top, there is practically no territory of its own, the so-called playground is very small and squalid, our room was not bad, but there was a constant smell in the bathroom. Among the advantages: polite and friendly maids. We will not return to this hotel anymore.
