The monument to Aram Manukyan, a statesman and military figure, one of the founders of the First Republic of Armenia, is located on Republic Square next to the metro station of the same name. The monument was erected not so long ago, in 2018, and caused a lot of controversy. Aram is depicted in full-length and wrapped in the flag of Armenia.
