We were visiting friends who were vacationing there for the new year.
The complex was designed by an Italian architect, and everything was done quite competently. Large panoramic windows allow you to lie on your bed and gaze at the mountains opposite, illuminated by sunlight. Moreover, thanks to this thoughtfulness, or rather, due to the application of the experience that the world has been using for a long time, some cottages do not close the review of subsequent ones)). There are enough stunning views for everyone.
And since rest homes end at this holiday home (this is the last facility in this gorge), and there is nothing further or little man-made, there is exceptionally clean and delicious mountain air, and a very unusual, I would even say, alarming silence. These circumstances provide the charm to this complex.
The rooms are very minimally furnished, but there is everything you need. As far as we understood, there is also a swimming pool, and probably other attributes of civilization, but we did not see them, because we had enough of the above-described joys of life. Definitely recommended!

The place has one advantage - location. The air, the silence, the views. The accommodation itself is like in a post-Soviet sanatorium. The furniture is old, the bedspread, curtains, carpeting, the whole design is from the 80s or 90s. The territory is falling apart, tiles everywhere have fallen off, crumbled, and the boards have rotted. The hotel is not for people with disabilities, they cannot go up to the rooms. You can come here to sit in silence and listen to the birds, and there may be 4 guest cars nearby with music from the car, barbecue and dancing, a car near your door so that you can hear it too. In general, the problem is with sound insulation, all the neighbors can be heard. The hotel concept is outdated. The food is normal, but since it's 3*, the assortment is small. The restaurant menu is normal and delicious. There is no tea, coffee, or water in the rooms. It's going to be sad here after the Marriott and Hilton.

In short, everyone is there urgently! Especially for me, and preferably at least four times a year :)
Last year I was there in August and also returned refreshed and full of pleasant impressions.
Now for the details.
The territory is large, very beautiful and incredibly picturesque. The cottages are located on the mountainside, rising up the steps from the administrative building and the dining room. The coolest ones (in terms of accommodation, the most beloved ones) are those at the very top. Firstly, there is a magnificent view of the territory and the mountains. And secondly, by regularly going down and up to them several times a day, there is at least some chance to skip that breathtakingly delicious and plentiful food that is served at breakfasts and dinners. But people with limited mobility should take into account the steep ascents and descents and ask for cottages located in the lower part of the territory when booking.
When we were there in August, there was an Armenian buffet. And in May of this year, we found ourselves almost alone in the hotel — a separate pleasant bonus. A stern—looking but actually very nice man with a name that was difficult to pronounce in Russian, Mher, masterfully set our personal table and brought us food with a triple supply - so that we would definitely eat and everything would be to our taste. The dishes were delicious and varied. I was especially pleased with the obligatory presence of national cuisine, as well as fresh herbs and vegetables. We literally crawled out of the dining room :)
Once, while walking in the mountains, we picked a huge bunch of grass called mandag, at the suggestion of our local friend and guide. They dragged me into the kitchen and asked me to cook. And the next two breakfasts, in addition to the officially prescribed dishes, we also enjoyed this handmade delicacy.
The territory of the hotel is well maintained: fruit orchards, pine trees, flowers. The purest mountain air is filled with the aromas of herbs and pine needles. Spring is full of blooming, and autumn, apparently, is preparing to welcome guests with a generous harvest of fruits. In front of the administrative building there is a pretty pond and a blooming meadow where you can walk endlessly. And beyond the pond is a row of picnic gazebos.
Speaking of gardens, they are in excellent shape, rare for such wild places: all the trees are well—groomed, healthy, the trunks are whitewashed, the crowns are neatly and tastefully shaped.
There is an indoor swimming pool with warm water and lounge chairs on site. Lovers of swimming regularly "used" it to their satisfaction. In the next room there is a small gym with a minimum necessary set of exercise equipment. There is also an outdoor swimming pool, but it was not open yet in May.
There is a spring with delicious water within a ten—minute walk from the hotel.
And for lovers of wildlife and outdoor activities, there are at least three scenic hiking trails in the vicinity of the hotel. They have a very real chance to skip at least some of what they have eaten, pump up their legs and exercise their breathing apparatus.
Now about the numbers. They are large, bright, and have high ceilings. It's not hot in summer, and it's not cold in spring. It was cool only in the bathroom, but that's not critical in May. The furniture, curtains, and carpet are not new, with obvious traces of time, but everything is very clean. Cleaning is daily. There are towels, slippers, soap, shampoos, toothbrush and toothpaste.
The only small disadvantage is the mattresses on the double beds. We lived with a friend, and when we checked in, we forgot to specify that we wanted two single beds. Having found one large double room, we first thought of changing the room. But when we went out on the balcony and saw the gorgeous view, we decided that we would survive four days somehow.
Unfortunately, the mattress wasn't very high-quality, and when one of us started tossing and turning on one side of the bed, there was a lot of rocking on the other. But by the third night, we got used to it and slept great.
Now we know — when booking, you need to check the availability of separate beds. Last year we had just such a room — with good mattresses and two beds that can be moved if desired.
Result:
The hotel, the territory and the surrounding area are on the five with a bold plus. I take off the second fat plus only for mattresses :)
The people who work at the hotel are sincere, sincere, friendly and very professional.
The next time I go to Armenia, I will definitely plan a stay in this wonderful place.

The pool is open and closed if it is cool.
The food is good
From 10 to 15 minutes away there is a spring and a stream. If you are further from it, you can walk 5 km to the lake, but uphill is not easy.

It's terribly cold in the rooms, the door to the balcony is broken, the entrance is blowing, draughty, cockroaches in the room, mice in the lobby, got sick, you can't see a thing on the street, ice and ice, the staff is rude, except for the waiters, the bathroom is cold, the drain does not work well, the convector blows cold, they give a broken stove wi-fi does not pull, there is a TV, but there is nothing to watch, the channels are one or two and there are no more. I didn't live in the hotel, but we went down there after a one-day hike, and waited for a taxi there. The staff is nice, there are delicious drinks and a real fireplace to warm up if you are cold.

A very nice hotel in Agveran, one of the first built in this beautiful place. Five residential buildings, the main building, the sports building. Excellent cuisine. The most beautiful nature around. It is convenient to get from Yerevan.

Very good location , decent cuisine , attentive staff , not enough entertainment on the territory, but nature compensates with a dashing , excellent spa salon, especially massage (a very competent massage therapist)My wife and I were very satisfied!!! For a short-term family vacation, that's what you need!!!
