The museum is small, but the expositions provide quite sufficient information for those who are going to visit the memorial complex on the Brilevsky field and monuments in the village of Studenka - everything related to the battle of Russian and French troops in 1812. That's what we did: we got the information at the museum, and then "tried it on" at the Brilevsky field.

It is small, but the exposition includes a large layer of time.
The responsive staff of the museum are "in the subject", they will answer questions, prompt and tell you!
I'm not sorry for the time spent!
Nearby are the bridgehead fortifications and the city beach.

A cozy and quiet place. It's beautiful here. I recommend it to anyone who wants to know how people lived in Borisov and the area before you. Nice guides and clean air.

It's a good museum. We visited with the whole family, a well-organized exposition. The child was interested in the exhibits. A great story about the War of 1812 and the Great Patriotic War. I was struck by the story of a Borisov woman who went through 5 nazi concentration camps and remained alive. The staff in the halls give comments and willingly answer all questions. Ticket price: adult 1.5 rubles, children. - 1 rub . Photographing in the halls, even on a mobile phone, is also paid - 1.5 rubles.

Borisov is my hometown, it was founded by Prince Boris of Polotsk in 1102, that is, Borisov is a little older than Moscow. And, of course, Borisov is known all over the world for the fact that Napoleon's army was defeated in its vicinity.
Since childhood, I have been attracted to the stands associated with the war of 1812 in the Museum of Local Lore. Probably because they are the most vivid and memorable. By the bicentennial, the exposition was updated, a small panorama was decorated. There are many interesting exhibits. For example, a black officer's hat. I felt some kind of energy at this stand. It turned out that the hat was "alive", that is, an authentic exhibit. The pride of the museum is the eagle from the Napoleonic banner. I was shocked by the buckshot. Since childhood, we remember: "I hammered buckshot into the cannon tightly ..." When I saw a life-size buckshot, I wrote down the following lines:
I'm standing in the Museum of local lore,
I'm studying ancient buckshot.
How fragile human life is!
Only God can protect it...
The museum is interesting not only for the history of 1812. There are a lot of pages dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. There were prisoner of war camps in Borisov, and remains are still being found. It's very tragic. There is a stand dedicated to the pioneers- the messengers of the partisan detachments. One of them, Alexander Klimkovich, personally tied a pioneer tie for me as a child. I didn't realize then how much this moment would impress me in years to come.
There are many materials related to the Borisov industry. A crystal factory, a piano factory, a match factory - you can open whole halls about these enterprises.
There are exhibits related to the factory of art products. An entire stand is dedicated to colored glass figurines made by Leonid Shutko, a close friend of our family. I remember these figures from childhood.
The museum is very cozy, atmospheric, and intimate. But it seems to me that he is already cramped in this building, he has outgrown it. It's time for the authorities to think about how to present Borisov's story with dignity. The city has something to be proud of!

Maybe I'll be biased))))) Since childhood, I have wanted to visit this museum. The exposition is mainly devoted to the Patriotic Wars of 1812 and 1941-1945. There are many interesting exhibits on these topics. A lot of documents. But there are also many other exhibits. I think there are some very valuable ones. The staff is polite and helpful. The impressions of the visit are the best.

A very modest little museum that can be viewed in 10 minutes. There is no parking at all, not even for one car. We parked near the "Vitalur"
But I give 5 stars for an excellent tour, which both I and the children of 16.19 and 24 years old liked, respectively
The work of the guide is simply magnificent.

The guide tells us very interestingly about the history of his native places, about all the events, it is very exciting and a lot of new things. But it didn't work out with the kids. They were enough for 10 minutes. After that, they took over all the attention. But in general. I really liked it

I express my gratitude and appreciation for the guided tour in June 2023 to Elena Nikolaevna Shilova. I came with 6-year-old grandchildren and was amazed at the ability to convey to young children such a complex topic as the theme of war. The boys still remember and retell what they saw. I listened to it myself and learned a lot about the defenders of our city. We really need such museums, professionals and devotees of their work, because our actions are determined by the impulses of the soul. And the richer she is, the more correct her actions are. To the team of good prospects, success in their work, Elena Nikolaevna - to remain the same enthusiastic and patient in working with people.

A good museum and the staff are very competent and attentive , they tell interesting stories , they learned a lot about their city. Many thanks to the museum staff. As for any payments, on the contrary, I was happy to help with the tool , because the financial support of museums is not in the first place .

We were completely disappointed not to get to the museum.Ill-mannered staff. You can't pay for the entrance with a card, there is no change. The cashier did not have time to approach the door, rudely indicated that we should be silent, since the tour was underway, although we did not have time to ask anything. It is a pity that this is so.It was the first time we were in Borisov.

I visited this museum in May 2018. The museum is small, but there are many exhibits. Everything was collected with great love: weapons, documents, uniforms from the Napoleonic era.I was on an interesting excursion organized by the museum, I saw the places where the descendants of the French still come to see history with their own eyes and take away a bottle of water from the Berezina river.I advise you, I have learned a lot of new things.

I didn't like that they always followed us and stood over our souls :) they didn't tell me anything, they watched and thought of everything themselves. But they additionally took money for a photo, this was the first time I encountered such a thing. The museum itself is 4 stars, no more.
