What can we say about the famous memorial complex, which is famous all over the world? Of course, it's very beautiful and atmospheric, clean and tidy. Museums are very interesting and there is a lot to see. If you are in Brest, be sure to visit the Brest Fortress.

It's a very atmospheric place. I recommend that you visit and definitely with a guide, as it is difficult to assess the scale of the feat of the heroes of the fortress without a full story. The museum wishes to increase the number of guides. It's difficult to get on the tour

It was for the sake of visiting the Brest Fortress that we went to Brest. We took a tour of the museum and the territory, and we were very pleased. You either have to prepare yourself, read, study, or take a guide. The impression of the museum is heavy, but it is a must have, especially for the younger generation, who have not heard the stories of the participants of the Great Patriotic War. You should set aside a minimum of 2.5-3 hours for a visit: an excursion for about 1.5 hours and a short walk by yourself. If possible, then more.

A very, very nice place! a place where the memory will be shaken or shown what our grandfathers and great-grandfathers fought for. Thanks to the Belarusians for preserving this memorial. We spent almost the whole day there, tired but impressed. It was sometimes hard to realize that this fortress held on even when the dirty boot of the Nazi went far to the east. Heroic people, a heroic past. We will be in these parts and we will definitely visit again. And when the grandchildren arrive, we will definitely show them this, albeit difficult, part of our history.

We visited the fortress and were delighted. We took a guided tour with Andrey, which is a special pleasure. He not only tells, but literally revives the story: they started from the 19th century, went through all the stages of construction and defense. The presentation is clear, fascinating, with lots of interesting details. Andrey is sensitive, attentive, answers any questions. Thanks to him, this place has been remembered for a long time. We highly recommend it!

It is clear that this is a grandiose complex, made with love and great respect for the memory of the defenders. And thanks to those who keep it all in excellent condition. I want to mention some points. The Citadel's territory looks compact on the map, but it's not. And the distance from the Star to the main monument is decent. And then you have to walk a lot. There is no shadow, the spaces are open. It might be worth launching a tourist train with stops in key locations. Also, as far as I understand, there is only one toilet on the territory of the Citadel. There are also few places to eat.

Entrance to the fortress is free, it looks like a park, a memorial, museums are paid, visited the Birch Bark and the Defense of the fortress. I was upset that the defense museum didn't even offer an audio guide, they went by themselves, and right there the cleaner was mopping the floors, it was clear in her eyes: get out of here, I'd better wash up and go home... No, well, there are simply no points with "grandmothers" anywhere that would offer tours of the Fortress, at 5 fort or somewhere else, walking, bus. I involuntarily compare it with our Nevsky Prospekt, we were in Kaliningrad, there are also such places in tourist places. But not in Brest. I wanted my daughter to hear about the horror of the outbreak of war, in such an anniversary year, 80 years of Victory! But it didn't work out. There is no cafe on the territory of the fortress, only ice cream shops, I do not know if there is a toilet. (that's how it should be). I expected more from the visit.

I have been through Brest several times. I always found time to visit this place, which was glorified by the defenders of our great Motherland, the USSR, for its unparalleled heroism. The defenders of Brest did not have a single chance to stay alive, fighting surrounded by the fascist horde. But they gave their lives so that we could have the right to a future that they wanted to take away from us. It is important for me to remember this feat, so I visit this place.

Brest Fortress is one of the most emotional places I have ever been in my life. There are no words to describe gratitude to those great people and brave men who fell in an unequal battle for us to live now. The greatest feat of the soldiers of Brest will forever remain in the hearts and memories of all Soviet peoples. When you look at the ruins of the defensive fortifications, the majestic monument and walk through these places is breathtaking. And when I heard Levitan's voice about the declaration of war, when the "Holy War" was heard, goosebumps ran down my back, and tears welled up in my eyes. thank you. We will never forget your feat. That first day was like thunder in the azure. Made the globe of the earth shudder, A flower sprouted in an embrasure, Our memory will be burned by the war. That day cannot be measured in years, Our people will remember him. To all the exploits and all the losses I opened a harsh account that day. And Brest is a holy place for us, through a sea of sorrow and anxiety. We were on our way to Victory Day from Brest Along hundreds of fiery roads.

It is impossible, having arrived in Belarus, not to visit the Brest fortress. It is a tragic symbol of the unparalleled courage and heroism of the defenders of the fortress and the Soviet people in general. Familiar walls with bullet and shell marks from textbook photos and movie frames make hearts beat faster. We were lucky enough to walk through the entire territory of the fortress with an individual guided tour by a local guide. More than three hours of emotional storytelling left an unforgettable impression for our tiny group of 3 people. I am firmly convinced that the Brest Fortress is a must-visit for everyone traveling in Belarus.

A wonderful memorial, a monument to the courage of the people who took the first blow of Nazi Germany. Spare no time and money for guided tours. You will hear many powerful stories about iron men and women. It is very useful for the younger generation. Yes, it is possible for us adults to understand that Europe is not our friend and it is time for our leaders to dig into the improvement of our country. The Berestie Museum, which was founded at the site of the excavations of this settlement, is also located on the territory of the complex.

Calmly, interestingly, accessible to children and adults, she told us about the emergence of the city of Brest, and then about the artists. Then we got to another wonderful guide Vyacheslav. He spoke about the war in a very informative and accessible way. In general, we are very happy that we visited this place. I recommend

Having arrived in Brest for the first time, the next morning I immediately went to the Brest fortress, drove up from the Northern Gate. Even just by stepping into the territory, it feels like you are entering such a place in terms of energy, incomparable to anything. The earth, the trees, the walls remember everything. That's probably why, as we approached the monument "Courage", tears began to flow, although I have good self-control and I can't remember such an incident anymore. I walked for a very long time, looked at everything, read, visited the museum. I spent half a day in the Brest fortress, but that's very little! You can come multiple times. Everyone should visit this place.

There are several museums on the territory - they are paid separately. Everything is clean, everything is kept in a decent way The main entrance to the Fortress is made in the shape of a star. At the entrance, the call signs of the central radio station of the Soviet Union sound, the voice of Levitan, talking about the treacherous attack of Nazi Germany on the USSR, or the sounds of bombing. It is better if you take a mosquito repellent with you. Parking is decent. There are shops on the territory There is one toilet at the entrance and one on the territory.

Hero Fortress Brest Cleanliness ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Everything is clean, the lawn is mowed, the trees are well-groomed, there is a sufficient amount of garbage.) Nature ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ( Lots of greenery and trees ) Architecture ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Some of the fortress buildings (which were destroyed during the storming of the Brest fortress by the troops of the 3rd Reich) have been restored, and some left untouched. At the entrance, we are greeted by the monument of the star, in which a song from the time of the Second World War is playing, in the citadel there is a museum of the Brest Fortress (In the former barracks) In the center there is an "obelisk bayonet" and a sculpture "courage", ruins of the engineering department (foundation) Behind them is the garrison church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, which was a club in Soviet times.

I was very impressed by the fortress and the story of how the defenders held off the onslaught of the enemy for so long. On my first visit, I was very impressed. Seven years later, I returned here again, but the street guide upset me. He was obviously in a hurry to get home, and he quickly and crudely told me about significant events. I can tell you that too. I was a little upset by this moment. I wanted to listen to an enthusiastic guide, not someone who has no time.

We visited the Brest Fortress memorial complex for the first time. It's like seeing your family, what has always been with you. Deep impressions. We entered through the Zvezda entrance, where visitors are greeted by music and a view of the main monument to the defenders. Low bow and eternal memory to the Heroes. Thanks to the leadership of the state of Belarus and the employees of the complex for preserving the memory and fostering respect for the feat of the fallen. There is a youth memorial post N1 inside the fortress. Schoolchildren take up the guard of honor at the eternal flame. This is very important for the future life of the entire next generation. We chose an individual tour of the territory and the interactive museum of War and Peace, and went through the classical museum of the fortress ourselves. And they were not mistaken. Probably, all the guides here are dedicated professionals. We had Alexandra, young, knowledgeable, sincere. She told me, sometimes touching me to tears. How the commanders sent their wives and children with a white flag so that they would not have to shoot at them themselves, and asked: just live. It cannot leave anyone indifferent, as both scouts and ordinary residents of the fortress wrote in reports that there would be a war. But she came suddenly. There is a lot of important information. But two academic hours are enough for careful perception. Then we walked by ourselves. It is very beautiful around the fortress, we advise you to go around outside. Then we went to the second museum, we were tired. We ate at a cafe in the parking lot. Delicious pancakes with potatoes and coffee. It is more convenient to get from the station by taxi, 200 rubles Russian. Museum tickets are valid multiple times, for two more months. We recommend visiting at any age.

The tour was taken on the Tripster website. The departure was from Minsk, the journey took about 4.5 hours in one direction by minibus. The tour of the Brest Fortress is already conducted by guides working directly in this memorial complex. The territory itself is very large: it houses the Museum of the defense of the Brest Fortress, a huge 33-meter-high sculpture of a warrior, and the Thirst sculpture. At the entrance to the memorial, Levitan's voice speaks every 30 seconds, then "Holy War" plays, then the shelling from the air. The whole atmosphere evokes very strong emotions, besides, the guide tells a very interesting story. Be sure to visit this place if you are in Belarus.

The Brest fortress was built in the 30s – early 40s of the XIX century at the intersection of the Western Bug and Mukhavets rivers on the site of old Brest. During the construction, the entire city was moved to a new territory east of the citadel. The fortress was located on 4 islands formed by the arms of the Mukhavets and Western Bug rivers and a system of canals. In the center of the fortress there is a Citadel, or Central fortification, which is connected by bridges to 3 artificial island fortifications. This: Kobrin fortification (northeast side) Terespol fortification (west side) Volyn fortification (southeast island) The Nicholas Churcharchitectural center of the Citadel is the garrison Nicholas Church, built in 1851-76. The total area of the fortress is about 4 square kilometers. From August 1915 until the end of the First World War, the Brest fortress was occupied by German troops. In 1921, under the terms of the Riga Peace Treaty, it was transferred to Poland, which it was part of until 1939. In 1939, the Brest Fortress was transferred to the Soviet Union. Brest fortress during the Great Patriotic War on June 22, 1941, the garrison of the fortress took the first blows of the Nazi invaders and held the defense in complete encirclement for more than a month. In the post-war period, for the courage and heroism shown by the defenders of the fortress during its defense, the citadel received the honorary title of "Hero Fortress". For the people of Belarus, the Brest Fortress is an outstanding symbol of resistance during the Great Patriotic War. Brest Fortress today The Brest Fortress Memorial Complex is one of those places that should be visited in Belarus, and the largest tourist attraction in the city of Brest. After the war, the fortress was not fully restored. A memorial complex was created on its territory in 1969-71 to perpetuate the feat of the defenders. The architectural and sculptural ensemble of the memorial includes the main monument "Courage", the bayonet obelisk, the sculptural composition "Thirst", the Ceremonial square, 3 rows of memorial slabs with the graves of the dead, ruins and surviving structures of the fortress, the museum. The main entrance of the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex begins with a monumental main entrance in the form of a huge star cut into a concrete block. A.Alexandrov's song "Holy War" and a government message about the attack on the Soviet Union by the troops of Nazi Germany are heard here. The compositional center of the ensemble is the monument "Courage", a 33.5 m high chest sculpture of a warrior, on the reverse side of which there are relief compositions telling about individual episodes of the heroic defense of the fortress. The 100-meter obelisk "Bayonet" is visible from anywhere in the fortress and is connected to the main monument "Courage" by 3 rows of tombstones. The names of only 216 of the 850 defenders of the fortress buried here are known. The sculptural composition "Thirst" depicts a Soviet soldier who, leaning on an automatic rifle, is trying with his last strength to reach the river and scoop up water with a helmet. The monument is dedicated to the courage of the defenders of the fortress, who held the defense without food and drink for many days. The main part of the memorial is the Ceremonial Square, where mass celebrations take place. An eternal flame burns in front of the ruins of the former engineering department. In the evening, decorative lighting is turned on on the territory of the fortress. How to get to Brest Fortress and where to stay An excursion to the Brest fortress and the Brest fortress is better to come on foot. It is located about a 30-minute walk from the center of Brest. There is a bus leaving the city every hour. You can stay in any of the many hotels in Brest. Tourist attractions near the Brest Fortress It will take a whole day to explore everything in the Brest Fortress. In June 2024, she visited the Brest Fortress. I went to Brest specifically to visit this place. It's hard here, it's hard, but you definitely need to come to such places. Only by preserving them can we truly appreciate what a wonderful time we live in and appreciate it, do good, take care of loved ones, do not quarrel, live in peace, and do everything for it. The fortress has an accessible transport connection to the city center, and you can walk without problems. There are enough benches on the territory, if you are tired, there is a cafe (I did not go into it). I would like to see a richer souvenir shop, maybe even a shop. I would like to see in it, in addition to souvenirs, books about Brest, about the fortress, commemorative sets of postcards. In one of the museums, it would be great to organize screenings of documentaries, and maybe even feature films.

A place that must be visited! A very well-groomed territory, a lot of information stands, military music and the sounds of airplanes make an indelible impression at the entrance through the star. In my opinion, it is better to arrange an excursion in advance, or at least watch a documentary before visiting. The place where the Brest Fortress is located is truly historic. Once there was an ancient city where the Volyn fortification is now located. Be sure to visit the Berestye Museum - it contains unique preserved exhibits, the remains of entire wooden streets, more than 200 houses of the 13th century at a depth of up to 7 meters. Very interesting inside. Then, when the city was part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Brest Castle was built on the site of the current fortress. In 1833, during the reign of Nicholas I, the construction of the Brest Fortress was begun, after the completion of which it was believed that with a fortified garrison it could stop an entire army, so perfect was this building. Today, on the territory of the fortress, the heroism of the soldiers who defended it in 1941 is emphasized in everything. The museum has many photographs, letters and personal belongings found during the restoration. Part of the walls are specially preserved in the form in which they survived. Everywhere on the territory there are information stands with descriptions of the atrocities committed by the fascists. The monuments are very soulfully executed.
