The monument to Charlie Spencer Chaplin was erected in 2008 on the square in front of the Kazakh-French cultural center. It was presented to the city by one of the founders of this center. The full-length figure of the great comedian with a bowler hat on his head and a cane in his hands is made of bronze designed by sculptor Alexei Bokiya. There are 11 monuments to Chaplin in the world, this is the 12th. There is an inscription on the monument: "A great actor, screenwriter, composer" and the dates of birth and death of the actor are indicated.
