Synkovichi In the village of Synkovichi, near Slonim, there is one of the most atypical and interesting temples in Belarus, moreover, it is the oldest defense-type temple in Belarus, of which not so many have been preserved. The bulky red brick building surrounded by rapeseed fields, standing literally in the middle of nothing, is truly amazing. And as we approach the time-worn medieval walls, the awe of the monumentality of the structure only increases. The most probable time of its construction can be considered the end of the XV — beginning of the XVI century. Massive walls, towers and rooms above arches with loopholes bring it closer to a small castle. The plan of the temple is a slightly elongated rectangle with a three—nave division, where all the naves have almost the same width. The architecture of the church contains details of ancient Russian and Gothic architecture. The first ones include the arcature belt covering the apses and the two eastern round towers at the level of the lower tier. To the second, pointed arches of openings, steep roof, machicolations. The pediments of the church, which make up most of the end facades, are cut with numerous decorative niches, which remove the impression of the heaviness of the wall.

The format is very unusual. In fact, it is a fortress, and even on land. It feels like an organ is missing. Everything is very impressive inside, but it's fresh from being used to it. If you want to attend the service, it makes sense to be puzzled by warm clothes. A temple with a rich history; I visited it myself at the time of the raid, but it is better to go there accompanied by a knowledgeable person

When you stand in front of this brick giant, "a monument of cult-defensive late Gothic-Renaissance architecture," you don't understand where Orthodoxy is here (the interior is more familiar, but the walls and vaults betray Gothic). But where - you need to go around (from the parking lot) the church and a bell tower will appear in front of the main entrance. It is relatively new - the end of the 19th century and reconstruction in 2007. The classic pilasters are contrasting yellow plaster, a golden ramp and dome, and only the ground floor is finished with rough natural stone in the style of a fence. It is a bell tower, and it does not try to interact with the church by forming some kind of ensemble. Maximum distance! And that's right - you can't try them on anyway, but they exist independently and don't spoil each other. Perhaps this is the way out for combining Orthodoxy with other incongruous styles - the same constructivism (see b. church in Brest): build an Orthodox bell tower nearby, and leave the cathedral as it is. Chacun a son gout.

We came from Minsk to see the beauty with our own eyes! An incredible defense-type church, you can feel the power and energy, a strong place! The architecture was simply impossible to take your eyes off in Murovanka-a defense-type church, it is much smaller than this one. I wholeheartedly advise you! For the record, we got from Slonim by taxi for 30 rubles, it's more difficult to get out of there, many taxi drivers refuse to order. It's a long walk to the bus stop. It would be nice to bring warm clothes with you, as the place is isolated.

Real Belarusian Gothic not far from the highway R-99 Baranovichi-Volkovysk-Grodno. The miraculous image of the Mother of God "Vsetsarina" is located in the temple. Along the way, you can look into the font and the spring.

A fragment of history preserved to the present day. I would like to return to this relic, as the atmosphere of this place is difficult to convey in words. Take your time and visit this small but impressive church, as there are so few such architectural monuments in our homeland! Nearby there is an obelisk in memory of fallen soldiers. The locals touchingly take care of and refine a tiny piece of land where you want to stop and be silent for a while.

You should definitely visit this temple. Venerate the miraculous icon of the All-Tsaritsa, which cures cancer, stay in peace and quiet, and communicate with the priest, who sees and knows everything.

It's a very beautiful temple, we saw a photo of it on the Internet and decided to stop by on the way home. Indeed, the appearance of the church takes us back to the Middle Ages. It is very convenient for tourists who go to the Zhirovichi monastery to visit it.

I was on duty on 04/27/2025. I really liked it. I also liked that the arches of the church were left untouched during the reconstruction. We visited the source. The territory is landscaped. A pleasant impression of the visit.

An interesting church from the outside and inside. I recommend it to everyone who is close to this topic. At the time when we entered it, a wedding was taking place in the church, we did not manage to examine everything in detail. There is a convenient parking nearby, there is a toilet.

It is impossible not to visit this place. If you are going to Belarus or traveling in Belarus, be sure to stop by. In principle, there are few such fortress churches, and we have even fewer, so the trip will fully justify itself. The atmosphere is incredible!

This is an extraordinary place, the ancient church is very beautiful, every icon is in a towel, stained glass windows with saints on the windows, everything is lovingly maintained both in the temple and on the territory. In the temple there is a miraculous icon of the Theotokos, the All-Queen, full of grace from the people whom she helped through their prayer🙏

It's a beautiful place. It's quiet and sunny. The breath of time is felt. Especially in the ancient wall inscriptions, carefully uncovered and preserved by the servants of the temple. A sample of a castle-type temple. It is quite rare in the Orthodox tradition. And, of course, the miraculous icon of the Mother of God deserves special attention.

I recommend visiting and worshipping the holy icon, a very interesting church, be sure to ask for an excursion and do not forget to stop by the local font, restaurant, and at the same time the monastery on the way. Layhfak in the monastery in the shop, ask for a mini-tour, it is conducted by students - very informative!

Today we were passing through this wonderful place. Unfortunately, they did not have time to close, the temple is open from 9.00-17.00. I really wanted to look at the miraculous icon and inscriptions on the walls dating back to 1213. The temple is very ancient, originally it was a Prussian fortress that stood at the confluence of 2 streams. A blessed place, quiet, calm, time is tangible here

One of the oldest churches preserved on the territory of Belarus. In the temple there is a miraculous icon of the Mother of God "Vsetsarina", to which people turn for healing in case of oncological diseases. The temple is relatively close to the Zhirov Monastery, so it is better to combine trips to both Shrines. It is sparsely populated, quiet, and gracious...

The legendary temple: the guide said that it began to be built back in the days when the Prussians settled in this place, who fled from the Teutons... And two branches of the river flowed around the area, forming almost an island. And there are many more interesting facts. And in general, the place is sacred, holy.

It is sincere and beautiful! The specific features of the temple's architecture have no analogues in the world. In this sense, it is a masterpiece of Belarusian architecture. The temple is a monument in which the artistic trends of the East (traditions of Byzantine architecture) and the West (Gothic) have merged into a single synthetic ensemble.
